I'm about half way through and you know what, my experience has been pretty good. I like the story and gameplay. The only bugs I've seen so far are characters blending with the environment once or twice. It's not as good as Witcher 3, which is what I was hoping for but otherwise I like it.
When the game first came out, there were a ton of bugs (I pre-ordered it) but I think it was playable and somewhat enjoyable on PC and xbox series x (cannot say the same for the playstation versions which were a joke). Gamer anticipation before launch was sky high and since the game turned out to be buggy that led to a flood of negative reviews, especially since CDPR (CD Projekt Red) kept on fanning the flames of expectation.
These days the game is not the same as when it launched. It plays better, it looks better, it is balanced better and it's definitely not worth 3.7/5 as a general score. It is also on 50% discount much of the time and it is a huge AAA title that you should consider.
In fact I would urge you to buy it if the setting and first person perspective sound appealing; there is nothing like it on the market. Yes, it is not Witcher 3 but then again what is? Overall, I give it 4.6/5 and two thumbs up.
This game is just great. The world is fantastic, the atmosphere is perfect, characters are believable, I just love it.
Sure there are some aspects that could be better like NPC animations, random spawning issues and driving cars is a bit of a pain (bikes are much better), but none of these took away from the overall experience.
I only have the final mission to do and I don't wanna do it because then it'll be over! I really hope they do more than just one expansion for this game.
Have been playing since launch on Xbox Series X.
Fantastic immersion that draws you deep into the character. Yes had some bugs etc post launch but nothing that actually broke the game like sooo many people have claimed, most of the glitches were actually quite comical...
For those that compare it with The Witcher must understand that they are Completely different games...one is NOT trying to be the other...so just Stop....
The recent patches have improved and added to the imersive experience, more content would be fantastic but all in all Thankyou CD Project Red for the painstakingly hard work your team put in to a Fantastic game!
Really want to give it 6 stars for what this game is in my fantasy...
unfortunately I miss many things gameplaywise that I came to expect from a next gen experience.

One thing I did not see mentioned enough is player animations... that shadow haunts me at night man and I feel this abomination is the only reason we did not get third person view.
The art and atmosphere is on point... love it.
