This is a flawed masterpiece that is destined to leave its mark in video game history. I must be among the lucky ones that didn't encounter too many serious game-wrecking glitches? Thank you CDPR for creating this game.
The game is really great and amazingly well done some fixes needs to be done but I'm expecting the next few patches will make this game amazing as they did with the witcher 3
story9/10: the game is brilliant and the characters are so well written but what annoys me really that there're characters that deserves more quests and storylines and the main story really needed to be longer it ended way earlier than I expected the ide quests kept me busy but also many of them felt incomplete.
the side gigs were fun but lifeless of any engaging choices and actions some of them had surprising moments but those moments were rare.
Graphic10/10s: are mind-blowingly amazing and feel so real and cinematic a part of the game which amazingly well done just make sure your rig is a beast to handle it.
Gameplay10/10: Is fun AF many mechanics and fast paced fps and hacking and melee weapons and cyberware you get to show off in the gigs had a blast
NC9/10: the city itself is a work of art couldn't believe my own eyes while playing the roads ,the streets ,the buildings, the gardens , the art of architecture filled in some of the buildings also beside all that the badlands a beautiful desert area surrounding NC but what flaws all this greatness is the population I mean the NPCs The AI is really flawed from the weird movement pattern to the same dialogue repeated over and over a problem needs to be fixed to allow the city shows its true beauty also there are a lot of building closed off felt disengaging to my experience.
Lifestyles4/10: A promise felt empty and was hugely disappointed in my second and third playthroughs the only difference is the prologue, some of the not so important dialogue choices and one or so missions.
PC optimization8/10:Game is well optimized bugs are minor no game breaking bugs ran through 3 or so on different missions required me to restart checkpoint on v1.06 but still waiting for more patches to fix all the bugs
All in all game is great a must play exp4all
Not super far in the game yet but I'm enjoying this title. lots of fun gameplay. great soundtrack. fun combat. I do wish sometimes you could hide your helmet as some of the gear looks pretty wild but I get that it's sort of the aesthetic of the game. If it's anything like Witcher 3 updates and changes I'm sure lots of features are going to be added in time. Thanks CDPR looking foward to more content!
It's a Cyberpunk review, so... bugs. I saw some. Naked T pose on the motorcycle cracks me up everytime it happens. I want CDPR to back rev a Geralt naked T pose on Roach back into W3. Maybe a Gwint card or two? Across a 90 hour completionist playthrough I had to restart the game once or twice due to a bugged out thing. Had some strange graphical glitches (Kerry Eurodyne's robe is possessed) that were distracting. No doubt another six months of polish was needed, but whatever. Call it 3/4 of a star gone from 5.
The other 3/4 of a star (for an overall rating of 3.5, rounded up as explained below) goes due to the somewhat short main storyline that was largely detached from the rest of the game. It was good. Please don't get me wrong. I enjoyed the story but it is over and done in 20 hours of play. I was surprised when the game was over.
The other 70 hours was a rabid competionist whack a mole playthrough that was good. The game mechanics are fun to play with. The action is solid. Gunplay, enjoyable. Riding bad ass cars through a lavish, beautiful city to shoot and loot from a massive collection of truly creepy bad guys was cool. Some great storytelling pieces here and there, along with some excellent moments (Johnny's responses as you chase a ever ellusive hacker who leaves behind routers were vintage CDPR and reminded me of the best parts of Witcher.
But this isn't a five star game. Four star, maybe. If it had been more... together. So, three. And I'll toss a star back on the table in the hopes that the patching and DLC will pull together a solid game worthy of another playthrough or two at some point in the future. But a 3.5 star game is still better than raiding the Capital building in Washington and getting bean bag shot, so I think my December/January was well spent.
This is the most engaging experience in gaming I've enjoyed for the last five years or so. I find it enthralling & addictive. So multilayered & rewarding. I play on quite ancient hardware ( overclocked 15 2500k & GTX 970) & have had a smooth journey on the whole. I've had a few crash to desktops & been witness to a few small graphical glitches, but on the whole- Bravo.
I understand and sympathize with people's frustrations, but in a work of this complexity it's bound to suffer some hiccups. People tear apart Bethesda on similar lines. I'm a huge fan of their work as well. Yes I've had my fair share of frustration with their titles, and without console commands could not have completed some stages. But if it meant taking shortcuts or cutting back on the scope of their vision to achieve more guaranteed stability, I would rather they keep pushing the boundaries.
Gaming experiences of this calibre are few and far between.
My sincere thanks to everyone involved in it's creation.
