Cyberpunk 2077

Summary: The game is a deeply moving emotional experience like no other game that I have played before. Highly recommended for players that look for engaging story, character arcs and immersion. I’ve just finished the game in about 50 hours. I won’t go into mechanics, weapons, combat, leveling, driving, travel and so on as these are not the most interesting aspects of the game for me. There are tons of other reviews and guides online if you are interested in learning more about these aspects of the game. Let me just emphasize that all the systems work and do not get in the way when playing the game for atmosphere and story. Also, I had minimal technical problems (a few crashes), but no major malfunctions or even slowdowns on my mid-spec PC on “ultra” settings with medium RT. Architecture, design, fashion, advertisements, decorations, uniforms – all are amazing, consistent and well-thought through. This is also where the game has the most to say about today’s societal trends. I’d highly recommend reading the included art book for more history/lore and the designer’s thoughts. Sound, music and ambience are all amazing and do a lot for the overall feeling, especially the character tracks. The story is very good, a well done rehash of the “two different partners must learn to work together to solve the issue” trope. At times, the game overdoes it with shoving a certain character into your face, especially in some emotional scenes, but nothing to drastic. The gripping character stories and arcs are what really blew me away – and made me cry more than once! When the game was finished, it felt like I had to say goodbye to friends and loved ones, and I experienced severe home sickness for the gaming world. Interactions with minor human characters (and AIs) dive deep into aspects of human existence, and major characters will touch your very soul (Judy’s arch) like no other game – despite minor inconsistencies that can be easily overlooked.

Yeah, this is a one-star review on the basis that they did not (and still haven't) give us dual wielding. This was one of many cut features (like wall-running, to name another) that was something I was very much looking forward to. They talk about how you can "play your way", but I certainly can't. In my fantasy, my character can dual wield. Really, the only option I have for this is to us the mantis blades, which I do like, but that's not the point. NPCs can dual wield in this game and there are multiple instances of such. To add instult to injury, the Collector's Edition statue is shown dual wielding, so they very much planned on this being an intended feature. I'm sick of wannabe coders talking about how complex dual wielding is and jumping to white knight for the devs who cut the content. CDPR fanboys, put it on a t-shirt. There are ways they could have implemented it. Even if they weren't able to integrate a full featured version of it, I'm fairly certain they could have had specific sets of matched weapons that would have at least been an olive branch. I'd have been more than happy with a set of matched pistols or knives that would function as a "single" weapon, but would visually give the representation of dual wielding. They clearly did this with the mantis blades, so they could have done it with other weapons. Is CP2077 a good game? Yeah, overall it is a soild title and I admittedly do like the story and the vibe of Night City, however, the sad reality is that it's primarily going to resonate with me as a symbol of broken promises from a studio I once I genuinely loved.

Phantom liberty 29.99 + this one 59.99 = 89.98 Full game with dlc 39.99 vs original game 59.99 & dlc for 29.99! Meanwhile on Steam sale original 29.99, dlc 14.99, and full game 41.38. And Cdpr pays 30% from these to Valve! Someone is getting his sallary for nothing on gog. No way I'm buying anything more on gog

within my 4 and half hours of playtime, i've crashed 2 times. other than that, there are small bugs such as: while using keyborad/mouse and controller simotanlously, the UI flickers and its hard to see the actually corresponded button. anywhere you have sliders, the scroll always goes up automatically now matter what I try. It was painful to create my character while the scroll non stop going up.... the optimization isnt very bad, but there are ton of improvements... im using 1070ti and 8600k under 2K, could barely manage a stable 30+fps with medium/high settings (new driver installed). there is an option for crowd density in the game, and the city does not feel empty in my 4 hours of playtime, but the npcs feel flat in their model..

Where do I begin? So far this game has been very enjoyable to me. It has all the elments and tone I was getting from the trailers. The only bug I've experienced was that my vehicle was slightly floating when I left a building walking over to it. The characters are well written... the voice acting is solid and the skill tree is MASSIVE! I'm looking forward to taking my time and really letting this game soak in to all my pores. This game isn't for the faint heart. Why even bother with it if you dont like RPG's? If you want a killer single player, futuristic RPG with blade runner vibes then this is the game for you. Don't read reviews and dont use their opinions for your decision to buy the game. Make sure you update your video drivers whether if you have NVIDIA or AMD (like myself). This game is going to take hours and hours to complete and I'm beyond hyped for that. Also I apprecite the little bonus gear GOG tossed in for the preorder :). I knew building a new gaming PC was going to pay off for when games like this release.
