Ten hours in and this game seems amazing
There are bugs but they will be fixed in time as they were with the Witcher.
Looking forward to many more hours
I'm one of the few lucky people on PC who hasn't experienced any hard crashes or game breaking bugs yet. That being said, many of the bugs need to be fixed soon - which I'm sure they will because CDPR have promised to do it. But they should have just let the game cook for a few more months, regardless of the backlash they would have faced for delaying again.
Also a lot of the Gameplay features that were advertised / promised are missing.
- Like how the game will have rippling consequences through your choices, but honestly there were very few choices as such to be made. Eventually they all lead to the same place.
- Then the wanted system is not as advertised
- Enemy and crowd AI aren't up to the mark imo. Definitely needs improvement..
- Only the first time you visit the ripperdoc do you get that cool animation of him installing the cyberware. After that it's just a plain UI whenever you want to install cyberware. No cutscenes or animations to show the same - I was extremely disappointed by that...
- Can't sit and eat food
- V's apartment is pointless. Never need to go there after you leave the first time... If we could have the option of customizing it / or have the ability to get specific buffs or maybe just give us the option of buying a new apartment as we progress
- Needs transmog feature and need to be able to change tattoos and hairstyles and stuff. Again, not as advertised
Now on to the Pros:
- Amazing open world and graphics (even though it requires some optimization). Hands down the best open world city I've seen in a game to date. It truly lives up to the hype in that regard
- Great characters and storyline. Great plot. And I especially love the facial animations of all the characters and how each have their own quirks according to their personality
- Hacking system is great. the UI for the scanner is really good.
- I'm personally liking melee combat with the mantis blades but combat in general still needs a lot of work
- Extremely immersive experience
Runs and looks great on my 1080ti, around 30 hours and no crashes, only minor visual bugs.
Interesting main story, a lot of side missions. The leveling system is well made, you don't need to decide what you want to be at the start, just by playing it you will upgrade the corresponding skills. The perks are balanced and meaningful. The reputation system mostly unlocks new missions, new cyber-implants and new stuff to buy. Crafting system is simple, but I like it.
It is a story driven RPG in a Cyberpunk setting not GTA V (an action game), there are a lot of ways to solve a mission, I am playing a stealth netrunner with some combat skills. It is NOT a life simulator, the other cars and NPC are mostly decorations, which is fine for me. Just cruising through night city is a lot of fun. For me the game play of leveling up your reputation and earning money for better gear and implants is an addictive fun. At the beginning I was rushing through the story, which was not a great experience since you miss actually the mayor part of the game.
This is an about 45 hrs review.
Pro:
-Very lived in environment. The detail of the surrounding and graphic really help with the immersive experience.
-Great main sotry flow. Iin terms of role play, it's very flesh out.
-Charaters are very written and performed.
-Fun and diversed combat approachs. Not ground breaking but still enjoyable.
Con:
-Bugs everywhere. Haven't found a game breaking one in main quests but still took away some immersive moments. An example: I encountered a bug in a side quest where an incapacitate taget get stuck in stairs and I couldn't loot her to get an item necessarily to finish the quest and had to reolad and redo it. That bug was repliactable as well.
-Unable to modify your appearance after the charater creation. The small things like hair, nails, piercing or tattoo should be cutumisable as the game goes on, circumstances change and the character grows.
-Not much of story choice branches. There are choices that matter to how quests will play out but not like ground breaking branching story in a major way.
Overall: great game with visible flaws. Have to overlook some to better enjoy it.
Got the game from day one and its fun to play and customize...other than some rare t-pose npc everything seems to be in order. Guess i was lucky that my pc has the same spec as their initial demo. i feel, bad for those who didn't manage to run it well...hopefully they can patch it soon.
