In this classic point-and-click adventure anthology you follow the path of Dale Vandermeer, a homicide detective, as he investigates the death of a woman and finds himself drawn into the mysterious world of Rusty Lake.
Cube Escape was Rusty Lake's first series of games, introducing the Rusty Lake universe. Heavily inspired by TV series Twin Peaks. All games are updated, preserved and bundled on GOG for a small price, to survive the end of the Flash Games era.
The Cube Escape Collection contains 9 chapters: Seasons, The Lake, Arles, Harvey's Box, Case 23, The Mill, Birthday, Theatre and The Cave.

I was just looking for something like that : a game where you need to think in order to solve some puzzle, and the one that does not engage you too much - you can take a break at every moment and then resume at any time. I enjoyed it!
This is an Escape Room, but it's more focused on solving puzzles than escaping. The artstyle is lovely, and the music is very chill. Then, you start noticing that something's a bit off... There's this surreal dread just slowly creeping in, and by the end, you're drowning in abject horror. You're forced to do some horrible things, and some really messed up events occur. Not all 9 games are excellent - some of the puzzles are obtuse and infuriating - but this is definitely worthwhile if you like surreal horror.
Cube Escape is a strange mix of chilled puzzle solving and some really disturbing moments. Either way, it really has its charm, the puzzles are mostly logical (sometimes a bit challenging but generally solvable without walkthrough) and the art style is truly unique. If you don't mind some darker themes (the games reference suicide, homicide, mental health issues and force the player to do some twisted stuff on a few occasions - so I wouldn't recommend it as a game for your kids), it's a great surreal journey...
I highly recommend getting all the Rusty Lake games and playing them in this order for best experience (all the games are available on GOG for a very fair price, either as a part of this pack or sold separately - except for Cube Escape: Paradox - which is available DRM free on ITCH.IO):
Cube Escape: Seasons
Cube Escape: Lake
Cube Escape: Arles
Cube Escape: Harvey's Box
Cube Escape: Case 23
Cube Escape: Mill
Rusty Lake: Hotel
Cube Escape: Birthday
Cube Escape: Theatre
Rusty Lake: Roots
Cube Escape: Cave
Rusty Lake: Paradise
Cube Escape: Paradox
The White Door
Samsara Room
The Past Within
Underground Blossom
as a fan of point and click mystery adventures this series, when combined with the Rusty Lake and paradox series is great fun to play and even share with others sitting and helping. like an escape room, everyone can help figure it out as you play
