Crusader: No Regret™

I remember playing the heck out of this game when it came out! So much win! The blood, dismemberment, awesome style ozzing out of everything, and that killer soundtrack! The controls were a little hard to get used too, but once you get the hang of it, nothing but bloody awesome after that!

Story and level design are a bit weaker. The graphics and weapons are improved still fun. The video portion of game is lesser also less colorful characters. Still makes a good sequel which in video games is usually about tech more than quality as demonstrated. If you haven't played you should get both for full effect.

GRET GAME SHOULD BE UPDATED

This game running beautifully without any bugs or problems and virtually no setup time. I remember back when I was about 8 years old and this game was new having to edit EMM386 and AUTOEXEC to get it to run properly on my 486 just to have the FMVs cause it to crash to DOS. The GOG version, however, runs beautifully on a modern machine "right out of the box". Oh yeah and the game is amazing. Awesome graphics, the sprite based isometric engine has aged well. I think it looks better than some modern games. The puzzles aren't annoyingly frustrating, the action is fast paced and awesome, the gore and explosions are over the top in that cheeky Paul Verhoeven action movie movie kinda way (Think Total Recall, RoboCop). Stop reading this and buy it already, it's only six bucks!

Not that I consider the prequel a bad game. Au contraire: No Remorse offered alll the joy of an isometric visual interface, coupled with smashing, bashing, blasting people and blowing stuff up. No Regret is No Remorse but BIGGER, FASTER, MORE EXPLOSIVE, in plain speech: a notable improvement over the original in several aspects: 1) controls & movement: more useful hotkeys, including weapon selection and circulation, additional Silencer moves added (crouching, rolling over, side stepping ). This helps a lot and ands new twists to combat 2) MUCH more richer armory: it's not just guns and lasers but all useful gadgets like my favourite Spider Bombs, Transporter Signal Disrupters, Radation Shields etc. More tactical applications - Tacticians unite and kill'em all. 3) a more compelling gameplay: the levels are much more sophisticated and there is usually more than one way to progress through a given level. Heavier protected areas usually give you the hint that you need to tinker around a bit to open the jackpot. A kind of a voluntary challenge. 4) better story telling - first two-three missions are connected like scenes from a good movie so the transition is natural. The choice of next few missions feels like the effect of situation development due to your activity in LMC base. That makes the story much more compelling compared to No Remorse 5) More "alive" NPC - I got to like the Rebels from the Moon Base a lot more than in Echo Sector, because of their personalities and humor. Some of them get more screen time and character development, which is why you get to like them a lot more. After all they are your brothers in arms. 6) more great music. It's just a personal opinion but I do think that No Regret's OST is better than No Remorse's
