Legends of the past come back to life in this charming European mystery adventure.

Crowns and Pawns, a modern-day point and click adventure, inspired by classics such as Broken Sword, Monkey Island, Still Life, Syberia and others. The game highlights the less explored history of Europe to the world of adventurers. Experience the legendary stories of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, bring to light the villainous branch of the KGB, solve puzzles and follow hints to reveal the secrets of the King who was never crowned.

The story follows a girl from Chicago, Milda, who unexpectedly receives an inheritance from her grandfather – a house in Lithuania. She sets off to Europe, but upon arrival she is threatened by an unknown man, demanding that she gives up her inheritance. Determined and intrigued, she explores the run-down house, discovering old documents and clues dating back to the 15th century. Before long, Milda gets dragged into a dangerous search for a long-lost mysterious relic...

  • A blend of history and myths set in a modern world, featuring real life locations all around Europe.
  • Crowns and Pawns is led by the art director of the highly acclaimed fan-adventure Broken Sword 2.5.
  • Classic point-and-click puzzles that involve finding items hidden in beautiful environments, creatively combining the contents of your inventory, interesting dialogue choices, and more!
  • Beautiful hand painted art that comes to life with a touch of modern graphics features.
  • A world that reacts to your decisions.
  • Change the looks of the main character to solve puzzles (or for fun!).
  • Fully voiced dialogue.
  • Music written by the award winning composer Daniel Pharos (A New Beginning, Memoria, Blackguards).
  • A control scheme perfectly adapted for the best possible experience with both a mouse and a gamepad.

Fun P&C Game. Wish there was more!

Positive: Beautifully drawn backgrounds. Enjoyable art style and character design. Historically interesting. Likeable main character. Some fun puzzles. Negative: Side characters under-developed. Dialogue is sometimes tiresome. Not enough puzzles. A little short. Ending. I was very excited for this game and have been awaiting it's full release for a couple of years. Overall I really enjoyed my playing experience, and will always show up for a well designed and well made point and click adventure game. The artstyle and background artwork is really the standout for this game. There are a few especially beautiful works on display and all commendations need to go to the art department of this development. I thought the motivations of the main character was very strong and her interaction with the world was authentic and believable. I felt the game was very short(but fairly priced vs length), and not enough time was given to flesh the story out and give the events more meaning and weight. The ending felt very anti-climactic and rushed. I felt the dialogue and side characters were underdeveloped and there wasn't much to talk to anybody about that gave these side characters...character. I wish there were more challenging puzzles in the game. I may be speaking from a Point & Click game veterans POV, but I still felt the puzzles could have been made more challenging and varied. But this was not a major negative for me. Overall I did enjoy my experience playing this game, and more importantly I'd REALLY like the developers to either continue this story or do more P&C games in the future. The foundation, passion, and love is most certainly there and I'd be handing over my money for another game made by them anytime. Good work and I hope to see more in the future.

Not without flaws but loved it!

Let's get the cons out of the way first The solutions to some of the puzzles are...eh far fetched let's say but it could've been worse! The backgrounds when zoomed in(during calls for example) are blurry and lose their beauty. On the other hand i loved the story centered around eastern europe history and found myself invested almost immediately, the graphics are nice(beautiful backgrounds and nice enough characters in their design and animations) The soundtrack has its moments and the rest of the time serve its purpose. I liked the idea of customizing the character just for the sake of it and for some puzzles to have different solutions during the game. I would definitely like to see more from these developers, maybe with the same main characters?

So Fun. AARP Age Gamer and I love this!

So, I picked this up after seeing a post in a group I’m part of. I had so much fun and while I have finished yet, I’ve put in around 10 hours. Admittedly some of that was figuring out puzzles. I ended up streaming it on Twitch and people in the community came and gave me help. The art style is great. The dialogue is hilarious. I have had some really good laughs playing and I’m actually learning quite a bit about actual History, ( A subject I did poorly in back in school 😆) The puzzles are logical and it just takes a bit of thought to figure out just how things go together. However, I did struggle in a good way and then it was very rewarding once I figured out how to progress. Highly recommended. Tom

A Lithuanian made game

A pretty solid point and click adventure. I am not an expert at these so keep that in consideration. There is some roleplaying involved. You can pick your profession which comes into play later, multiple dialogue options, customization of your look. In terms of difficulty i think i solved about half of the puzzles by myself and the others i had to look up on a walkthrough. Your mileage may vary. The key selling point is setting in my opinion. This game is made by a Lithuanian developer and it tackles mysteries from the medieval Lithuanian history. You visit a couple of other countries in Europe as well. The presentation is quite solid in my eyes and it's all fully voiced. The pacing is pretty smooth and does not overstay it's welcome. It honestly plays out like a long movie or a TV show. It's not trying to be wacky or crazy. There were a few funny or cute moments sprinkled throughout.

A lot of good quality moments

Nice puzzles and a intriguing story, but a bit to short. I also wish there was a tie up after the ending, we are left with a feeling there was supposed to be a bit more.
