Croc Legend of the Gobbos

Overall a pretty decent remaster, but the new controls are a bit of an issue because the camera will not move at all unless you specifically move the right stick to move it. The problem is that because of this unless you're always swinging the camera around, you're going to end up in a position where you can't see where you're going, a problem that the original tank controls ironically completely sidestep. Most other platformers will at least have the camera move turn with you to at least some degree whenever you move, or an "Active/Passive" toggle a la Spyro. Hell, the current camera wouldn't be so bad if you could tweak the FOV or zoom it out a little.

I still own the original Croc on Playstation disc, along with Starwing on SNES cartridge (UK title for Starfox). Loved Croc from minute one, as well as Starwing (Please remake Starwing/Starfox ;-)). This is like revisiting an old friend who's had a makeover and an operation on his legs, to improve control ;-P. If you've played Croc in the past, you will LOVE this and if you've never played it before, you're either too young, or you should be ashamed of yourself... Joking, kind of ;-). Anyway, enough waffling, time for me to dive-in to a classic, with all-new graphics and snazzy controls/camera. Fun is guaranteed with this game :-).

Played the entire game from the release day until today and did not encounter a single bug, you can't say that about modern gaming. The art style is gorgeous and it shows fancy graphics are not needed. The framerate is buttery smooth on my graphics card and did not encounter a single dip. The best improvement of all are the reworked controls and camera. To those not happy about the price, you are getting a full game, that isn't broken and has extras. This game is a blessing given the times we are living in where publishers sole aims are to rip off customers. Hopefully we'll be seeing the Croc 2 remaster!

Croc is literally my childhood, both the games being the first games I ever played. The remaster is more than a fresh coat of paint. The controls are just perfect, with tank on d-pad just like the OG for precision, and thumbstick for full analog support and free cam like modern platformers, works just as promised. Croc controls just like the OG, a bit floaty and its something you need to get used to but is definitely worth it. Even comes with the Classic OG Game from 1997 which is a nice touch. Bunch of behind the scene content and media from Interviews, A Cancelled TV Show to even a DIY Croc Crochet which is adorable. The Nostalgia is making me cry, this a dream come true. Now to hope for Croc 2. Thank you so much for remastering my first childhood game.

The game retains all of the original charm with a nice face lift and updated effects. The original spirit is still there. The music is the same (haven't encountered any tracks that were missed yet), and the controls also feel the same. A lovely, nostalgic game with modern polish.
