Thousands of aliens, giant spiders, mutant lizards, and more are on the attack - can you survive the onslaught? In Crimsonland you will unlock new weapons and perks constantly improving your abilities and arsenal. Your screen will be filled with literally hundreds of monsters and thousands of giblets. Grab your gun and prepare for endless hours of intense top-down shooter fun!
Perks
What are perks? Perks are like talents in an RPG game. You earn XP by killing monsters and with XP you earn levels. After leveling up you get to choose a perk. For example, a perk called Fastloader enables you to reload extremely fast. During a session perks will stack up a and every game will be a bit different. You'll unlock perks during the quest mode after which they become available in the survival game modes.
Weapons & Carnage
We've created a huge arsenal of 30 unique weapons ranging from the humble pistol to the mysterious Shrinkifier 5k. The weapons are unlocked by playing the quest mode and they become available in survival game modes as well. The better your arsenal - the better chances you have at scoring higher outside the quest mode.
Co-op Mayhem
All Crimsonland game modes feature local co-op for up to four players. Gather your friends and show everyone who wields the gauss shotgun like a pro!
Crimsonland Classic, the 2003 version, is included as a FREE extra!

It is funny to realize that this game is the core idea behind Vampire Survivors. You run around in a field, killing hordes of monsters that autotrack towards you, and if you kill enough you get to pick an upgrade.
The only real core difference is that the game is a twin-stick shooter, where you have to actively aim and fire (aside from a few damaging upgrades), and some smaller stuff (you don't have to collect currency from dead enemies, upgrades are general purpose perks rather than weapon upgrades, and the two modes are a finite mission mode and infinite survival).
Of course this game far predates VS - this version comes from 2014, but this game dates to 2003. In fact, not even that is the original - it was originally a wildly popular free game from 2002. And that's the version I originally played as a child within a year of getting my first PC.
I have to say, I am biased, I spent my entire life since childhood playing this game on and off, but the fact that this kind of game survives to this day is a testament to how timeless this formula is. 15 bucks might sound steep, but you can always buy it on a sale - and I guarantee you will get you money's worth.
Aw man, i remember playing this on my old sony ericsson up to 4am. Does everything as an original one + extra. Amazing game. Really delivers.
Spoiler*, bug.:
The only niaunces i found annoying is how it refocuses player camera to the side when you pick up "sharpshooter" perk and how it doesn't write gun names when you hover over em: both in game when picking "random weapon" perk and in menu.
The game offers a diverse variety od game modes, new weapons, pickups and perks. I enjoyed playing this game a lot but considering the old game, quest difficulty was pretty underwhelming.
Is it shallow? Yes.
Is it mindless shooting? Yes.
Is it well-executed and enjoyable? Absolutely.
Crimsonland is a classic top-down shooter, packed wall to wall with bloody carnage. The different game modes (missions, several different survival modes, and even a hidden mini-game) keep things reasonably fresh. There's a bit of imbalance in randomly-generated weapons, but I just keep coming back to this title whenever I want to let off steam blasting a few hundred aliens, zombies, or those damnable splitting spiders.
