Description
The sun begins to dawn on Velua, a new day for the world and a new day for you, a freshly minted Battle Researcher of the global research society known as Lux Solis. It’s your first day and everything goes smoothly until a mysterious force attacks your latest workplace. Build up a squad of Coromon, track down the invaders, and grapple with a rising threat that endangers everyone on Velua!

Coromon is all about taming the eponymous wildlife and challenging the rest of the world: other wildlife, trainers, or titanic bosses!

  • Build a team from more than 100 charming creatures, defined by their elements, traits, and skills. Catch, train then set them loose on your rivals!
  • Master a stamina-based battle system where every action costs energy, so choose skills and attacks carefully. Deal damage, sap enemy stamina with status effects, or nullify them through dozens of conditions to emerge victorious.
  • Challenge friends online and see whose Coromon squads are the best of the best.

The first day at Lux Solis is just the first step in a much greater adventure. Soon you’ll be thrust into a story grand in scope and great of importance, as a mysterious, alien threat emerges. It’s up to you to help Lux Solis put a stop to their dastardly designs.

  • Pursue the antagonists’ trail across six major zones and cities, with dozens of interconnecting routes to explore. Each one brimming with quests, secrets, and items to find.
  • Explore the furthest reaches of Velua, from frozen glacial caverns to the depths of blistering deserts.
  • Play a key role throughout a fully-fledged classic JRPG narrative, complete with plot twists, turns, and revelations that not all is as it seems...

Coromon empowers you to create an experience just the way you want.
    • Difficulty is more than just stat changes. Each option changes the fundamental mechanics, making the game as challenging as you want.

    • Want a stress-free, chill playthrough? Immerse yourself in the story on the easiest setting without hassle, or focus on tactics, number-crunching, and resource management.
    • Want a more high-stakes challenge? Use the built-in Randomizer and Nuzlocke modes to put fan favorite twists on the creature catching experience.
    • Create the trainer you want, using hundreds of customizable elements like hair, fashion, and more.

We're honored to be able to provide Coromon to you, a game we've poured our heart into. Coromon is our tribute to the classics of this RPG sub-genre. While staying loyal to the core gameplay, we wanted to add new features but also keep the iconic retro look, with a modernized pixel art style.

Thank you for checking out Coromon. We hope you will enjoy the game as much as we enjoyed creating it!

A game with simple mechanics, and awesom

The mechanics of the game is not that hard to get. However, there are enough challenges and interesting upgrade paths that makes you feel like you need to come back and complete only one more mission. Before you know it, you are a few h ours into the game and you are still playing it. I am not that much of a fan of games with such retro graphics. Nevertheless, there is so much in the game that pull me in over and over. There are a few annoyances in the game that I wished they could be sorted out 9although there is zero chance that would ever happen): the fights come with statistics and text after each hit. I wish that could have been disabled altogether (although there are options in the settings to speed them up, but they are super annoying even at 3 times the speed). The intro/extro animations to/from each fight is also super long and unnecessary. I wish that could have been disabled. Aside from these, the rest seems to be great! I highly recommend this game if you are into retro games.

Fine Monster Tamer

If you want to collect cute monsters, then this is a great game. Otherwise, Coromon is stuck in the shadow of Pokemon. I expect Pokemon clones to do one of two things; either set themselves apart with unique and interesting mechanics, or improve on the things the originals did. This game seems at most to be on par with Pokemon (such as with the story and art) or behind it (lack of double battle and other mechanics, less diverse seeming movelists). On top of this, the game is very easy, even on insane difficulty, right up until near then end when type matchups basically don't matter and the game goes from a boring slog to a painful one.

Neat monster collecting game

This game is a neat indie title. The graphics is reminiscent of old gameboy games. If you've ever played any monster collecting game, you know what you can expect. You collect monsters (surprise, surprise), level them up and fight other creatures and trainers in a turn based combat. You travel through the world that consists of different biomes, discover new towns you can later fast travel to. If I have any gripe with the game, it's that the dungeons can be sometimes too long to deal with. And some bosses have advantage to every Coromon type, so fights with them can drag a little. Overall, if you enjoy monster taming games, give Coromon a chance.

Lovely pokemon-style game for adults

Awesome pokemon-style game, in which you can adjust the difficulty as you want, which is awesome. Nuzlocke mode is available ingame. I wished there were more coromon. Currently there are around 120. Unfortunately every online functionality does not work without gog galaxy, which is bad for linux users. Especially because I had the issue, that the game always wanted to connect to a server every time I went into a specific menu but it was unable. Which causes a small loop in which I cannot click anything for a few seconds. Otherwise the game is great. Remeber the game is rated for the age: 16+ in Germany

Fun alternative to pokemon

Let me start by saying that I've never actually played through a single Pokemon game, other than occasionally checking out some friends' games. For whatever reason, I was just never a big fan of them, but Coromon is different. I haven't completed it yet but so far it's been an ejoyable experince. There's a lot there that is obviously inspired by Pokemon in general, but I wouldn't go as far to say that it's a reskin of the popular series. Coromon does a lot to make it its own thing and that's part of what drew me to it. However, if you're a fan of Pokemon you will probably like it as well. The monster designs are nicely done, and I like the variety between them. The animations are great too, although it would be nice to have the option to speed things up at times. Some of the attack animations are a bit too drawn out, and while it's cool the first couple of times, it does make things just a little sluggish. The game runs smooth though, and I've experienced zero hiccups in performance. The best thing this game does is give you the option to customize the difficulty. Not only do you have a few preset choices, but you can also fully make your own challenge. It makes the game both more approachable and more challenging for those who want it. I've sunk a decent amount of time into it and I haven't found anything to ruin the experience. From what I've seen thus far, the story is also pretty interesting. If you're a fan of Pokemon looking for something different, or you're like me and always had a slight interest in monster catching games but didn't want to hop on the Nintendo bandwagon, then Coromon is worth checking out.
