Description
The sun begins to dawn on Velua, a new day for the world and a new day for you, a freshly minted Battle Researcher of the global research society known as Lux Solis. It’s your first day and everything goes smoothly until a mysterious force attacks your latest workplace. Build up a squad of Coromon, track down the invaders, and grapple with a rising threat that endangers everyone on Velua!

Coromon is all about taming the eponymous wildlife and challenging the rest of the world: other wildlife, trainers, or titanic bosses!

  • Build a team from more than 100 charming creatures, defined by their elements, traits, and skills. Catch, train then set them loose on your rivals!
  • Master a stamina-based battle system where every action costs energy, so choose skills and attacks carefully. Deal damage, sap enemy stamina with status effects, or nullify them through dozens of conditions to emerge victorious.
  • Challenge friends online and see whose Coromon squads are the best of the best.

The first day at Lux Solis is just the first step in a much greater adventure. Soon you’ll be thrust into a story grand in scope and great of importance, as a mysterious, alien threat emerges. It’s up to you to help Lux Solis put a stop to their dastardly designs.

  • Pursue the antagonists’ trail across six major zones and cities, with dozens of interconnecting routes to explore. Each one brimming with quests, secrets, and items to find.
  • Explore the furthest reaches of Velua, from frozen glacial caverns to the depths of blistering deserts.
  • Play a key role throughout a fully-fledged classic JRPG narrative, complete with plot twists, turns, and revelations that not all is as it seems...

Coromon empowers you to create an experience just the way you want.
    • Difficulty is more than just stat changes. Each option changes the fundamental mechanics, making the game as challenging as you want.

    • Want a stress-free, chill playthrough? Immerse yourself in the story on the easiest setting without hassle, or focus on tactics, number-crunching, and resource management.
    • Want a more high-stakes challenge? Use the built-in Randomizer and Nuzlocke modes to put fan favorite twists on the creature catching experience.
    • Create the trainer you want, using hundreds of customizable elements like hair, fashion, and more.

We're honored to be able to provide Coromon to you, a game we've poured our heart into. Coromon is our tribute to the classics of this RPG sub-genre. While staying loyal to the core gameplay, we wanted to add new features but also keep the iconic retro look, with a modernized pixel art style.

Thank you for checking out Coromon. We hope you will enjoy the game as much as we enjoyed creating it!

Could be good

But the fact they couldn't fully make the pc version of the game be it's own thing outside of a garbage mobile port ruins it. UI interface is for mobile devices and too big making the game look horrible on a 2k monitor. Despite being a pc game there is no ui scaling and there many things like the escape menu that just have a big pause button ui element that looks horrible on pc, why would they not fix that by just removing it? Also many features are tied to online making the standalone version that can't connect online miss out on a variety of content (not talking pvp or multiplayer but cosmetics and events) also the "premium currency" that you buy on mobile and is used for a variety of stuff in game is only gotten from these online events and what not. It's really a half-done lazy pc port. The mobile and pc versions should be completely different, not just have the pc version be a slight tweaked bad port of the mobile version.

Still fun with little differences

There are similarities to one of the biggest monster catching/taming game but overall Coromon is different and have different feeling. It's intresting story and way different premise from what monster catching/taming games I have played. Gameplay is turn-based combat of course, which if you like you will like this game. One day I noticed update adding 2x game speed and I was suprised that mostly single player game is getting updates. Well there is multiplayer which isn't active because multiplayer is only accesible from specific area from single-player. Maybe multiplayer should have been accesible from main menu or pause menu so you would be able to access multiplayer no matter where you are in single-player and without losing progress. Of course there are options to start multiplayer outside of the game, but then I doubt that is good multiplayer implemention if methods outside of the game is only option to play multiplayer. Overall it's fun game. And I wonder if you will be able to transfer Coromon to future games if or when there will be future games.

Good, but not for everyone

First of all, this game is good! From the start page you can already see all the options and all the customization the game allows, with a lot of them being QoL. The game is beautiful and has good musics. The animations are solid (and can be sped up!!). It is different from the pocket monster games, from the hidden stats that are not hidden in this game (and also are improvable) to the different types and elements in it. This allows Coromon to feel fresh and unique in its own way. However, I do not like some of these differences. For example, the wildlife battles were multiple enemies spawn (up to three when I stopped), and you only send one Coromon in battle. This is part of a core problem I have with this game, it's difficulty. I ran away from pretty much no battles, having my Coromons being quite overleved, and yet I felt like I was struggling. Maybe this game expects me to grind, but it's not my cup of tea. And I am too much of a hoarder to spend all my resources (health and energy recovery items) in the first fifth of the game. Also, I felt like the game's "dungeons" (the cave and the tower on the island to be precise (without spoiling)) were way too long. I'm abandoning this game, as I don't like it enough to go on with it. However, for all the monster tamers fans out here, I would recommend trying this game out.

Great Monster Catcher (with some bugs)

Really an enjoyable game if you liked early gen Pokemon. PIxel graphics look great and there's a solid variety of moves/coromon so far, Unfortunately, playing on Linux (through wine) there seems to be a fair number of freezes and crashes which really suck if you haven't saved in a while. Not sure if they're Linux specific, or effect other OSes also, but be sure you save you game often (which is good advice in general). Great game though, I continue to play and look forward to playing regardless of the crashes.

Great Monster Catcher Game

Great gate. Minus 1 star because it seems like the GOG version is missing some features - specifically the online features and any cross-save capability. Ways Coromon is worse than Pokemon: Less iconic and recognizable monsters (but still great design). Ways Coromon is better than Pokemon: Less bloat in the types (Why is "bug" a type when everything else is elemental? Do you really need both rock and ground type?) Much less RNG cheese and pointless grind - no messing around with discovering EVs. So many QoL features - changing skills at will, skill flashes not being permanent, running and fast travel available from the start, map modification/traversal skills given to your character (not to a monster that you then need to keep in your party)
