In the game you play the role of Commander Keen: the alter-ego of an eight year-old genius by the name of Billy Blaze. When Billy learns that the Earth is in danger, he dons his brother's football helmet and his homemade interstellar spaceship to become Commander Keen -- Defender of the Earth!

The Complete Pack....kind of....

These games were a huge part of my childhood along with Buck Rogers, Ultima, Crystal Caves, King's Quest, and many others of the DOS and earlier era, and it is delightful to be able to play them again. They are fairly straight-forward platformers with decent challenge, though not the most challenging or innovative. That said, there is one glaring problem: It's not the complete pack. If it were, it would include Episode 3.5: Keen Dreams, and Episode 6: Aliens Ate My Babysitter!. It's kind of understandable, since Keen Dreams was a small release prototype, and AAMB was an odd stand alone title. But that said, if you're going to call yourself the Complete Pack, then be the complete pack and include them.

PC’s answer to Mario and Sonic

Truth is the Keen games aren't quite as good as it's console brethren, they are still a good time though. They conform to the I.D. and shareware design philosophy. That is the first episode is free and usually the best and each episode contains 1 secret level. What makes Keen special is that you have a pogo stick. This increases your jumping capacity while sacrificing control. It’s a rather neat gimmick for a plateformer. Another feature is that you can save your game anytime on the world map for the first three episodes while episodes, 4 & 5 have quick save. Something that the console counterparts don’t have. While there are certainly many other plateformers out there, I am happy to report that this is still fun especially those that grew with it. The Dosbox is pre configured nicely and there’s no texture filtering this time. My only complaint is that aspect ratio is not defaulted to 4:3

"Legally Complete" Edition

I just write this clarify others reviews, the game it's incomplete for the traditional rights problems, the rights holded of Aliens Ate My Babysitter is not id Software the one who is selling the bundle, and they named the pack so is maybe their fault in the end, maybe GOG will be able to get the rights but only time will tell, still, great to have this on GOG!!!

Not Complete!

missing Keen Dreams, Aliens Ate My Babysitter, and the Game Boy Color game according to its description. They even used the cover art for Aliens Ate My Babysitter, which again does not appear to be included.
