Do NOT Buy This Game

Do not let the listed release date fool you, Cloud Meadow is a game that's been in development for almost 10 years and shows no real sign of ever actually being finished. Many moons ago it began life as another game called "Breeding Season" that never went anywhere. After the two lead developers had a huge falling out, one split away (the lead artist, I believe) and formed the team that would make Cloud Meadow. If you are content with owning a game that will likely never be feature complete then go ahead and buy it, just know that your money IS going to waste.

Patreon Slop with capital S

Game with arround a decade of developement wich can be done in 3 hours tops, this game will NEVER be finished and is only being dragged on becouse there are still either fools deluded that it will be finished or forgot to cancel their patreon subscription, a game wich releases on platforms such as Steam and GOG (I have the game on Steam, unfortunatly couldn't refund it by the time I realised that it will never be finished) have no right to then put "betas" behind patreon and advertise it on the other platforms only for those same platfroms to wait MONTHS for said update, the update pace is glacial, them moment people stop paying for patreon devs will abandon it to move onto next game wich they will do the same to. So what's in game: couple of high quality "scenes" while rest are pixels smashing against each other barebones "breeding" system" barely any dungeon exploration and that's about it for 10 YEARS... Don't waste your money

It took a few tries.

But I think I understand the core loop. Ok, so I need you to understand that this is not really an RPG, this is more akin to Dark Cloud. Now what do I mean by that? Well the game is really split between two things, simulation and adventure. Now what do you get with those? Simulation- Farm, Relationships, Breeding, Cooking Adventure- Resources, equipment, sex, story But as is so often, the items paralell with these two concepts. Sure the food you grow/cook from the farm could be used for buffs in the adventure field but they could also be used as food for your creature barn. Sure the creatures that you have hatch out of an egg (getting the egg by breeding or by rewarded for after battle) can be used to do chores on the farm or you can also take them with you to help fight on the adventure side. The world itself is unique, not really explained that well but you get a sense that this is how things are, it does feel like it exists outside of when you play it; both with the creature migrations and the seasons effecting your farm. And honestly, there is nothing else like it out there. And despite what some reviewers are saying below, the game is getting updates, so don't worry about that. I'd say give it a shot if this sounds like your thing.

Actual Polt from a PLOT game

This game is so much more than just a herotic game It's still in early access but it has already a more interesting story from most of the farming simulators I played recently. I love the characters, love my little Eve and to top it off the sound track is AMAZING. I would suggest it even to someone who's not in to "resque games".
