What a horrible night to have a curse!

Someone should have warned the Covenant children: “Never read aloud strange rituals.” Little did they know that their childish game would unleash unspeakable horrors upon the unsuspecting world. Now, many years later, Jeremiah Covenant, the last sane sibling, lies on his deathbed knowing his fragile existence is the only thing restraining the curse. His only hope is Patrick Galloway, a fellow soldier from the Great War and a specialist in abolishing evil abominations.

Welcome to Clive Barker’s Undying, a horrifying FPS romp of curses, strange, mad creatures, and family dysfunction gone terribly wrong. Step into the shoes of Patrick Galloway as you attempt to banish the evil using your arcane magic and the ever-dependable six shooter of metal grace. Pray to whatever god you believe in because this journey may end up costing your soul. First person shooter meets the contemporary master of horror fiction, don't miss it!

Bustin' Caps...Occult style

I first played this game shortly after it came out. It was not received well by gamers, for whatever reason, but critically acclaimed. This is one of the few times I side with the critics. This game was amazing! The storyline grabs you as few FPS stories can, and the atmosphere in this game...to this day, this is the only game I ever played that gave me the creeps bad enough I had to take a break from it. Some really neat ideas in this game, and fun levels and spells. Granted, I only really used a couple spells throughout the game, but I suspect everyone is different on that. The weapons are pretty standard fare, with a couple twists. I love the stone you carry with you, that allows you to scrye for things and amplifies your magic when both are equipped (something I was unaware of my first playthrough). Very much worth the asking price! The graphics are not as good as newer games, obviously, but they are not horrible either. pick it up and enjoy something different in the FPS genre!

What a Gem!

Wow, I can't believe this game slipped past my radar. This gem is a great FPS horror game. The story is very well written by the author Clive Barker. If you like FPS and horror, you will love this game.

Enemies are not fun to fight

The enemies are not fun to fight in this FPS and the weapons lack punching power. Calling this a horror game is misleading, it's a shooter. The atmosphere is well done for an early 2000's game. There is 0 exploration, it's linear and level design is bland (empty rooms and corridors). I have played a lot of FPS games but this one is overrated in my book, do not trust the ratings.

a shooter with decent story

The shooter part is nor amazing nor bad, it's just a average shooter, as for the rest - the story has been written by Clive Barker so it's quite good.

Okay, let's be honest

The visuals are very dated, there are better looking games on phones. The atmosphere is great, marred the said visuals from time to time. The story is appropriately moody and macabre, but hey, it's Clive Barker, we all know him. The gameplay, on the other hand, is rubbish by today's standards. Inferior shooting in vast, empty corridors. What I especially like are the paintings that look differently when scrying. Three points for the ambition and for the desire to tell the story, cannot give more since it's 2013, and objectively, games are in an entirely diffetent universe today. Some games, like my favorite Dreamweb, age well. This one, not so much.
