Played on steam.
Worst purchase of my steam library. Annoying, pretentous, tedious, boring and depressing. Uninstalled in act 2.

Good but unstable
You already know the praise this game has. It's GotY material and a classic. Problem is the GoG version seems to crash every few hours like clockwork. Has a memory leak, ramps up memory usage until about 6 gigs used then crashes. Faster if you have a second monitor with youtube or similar open.

Creative Game flawed by dumb QTE Events
The Game is really really creative and beautiful, from a technical Standpoint it is also one of the good running Unreal Engine Games, but it still has some Issues here and there in the Cutscenes, i recommend not using the upsaling Options. The biggest Flaw i just can get over are the "real Time Mechanics" in the Battle, you have to avoid Damage by Blocking, Jumping or Dodging. The Damage Output is too high from Enemies, if you don't. It is just so annoying that they implemented this Mechanic. An Option for a real turn based Battle System would have been great. So if you don't like such quick Time Events, avoid this Game.

Great game, terrible optimization.
There's an amazing game hiding behind this unoptimized slop. Fix the optimization and it will be a 10/10 game.

Combat Mechanics
I have only played on console (XBox Series X) and have not played on PC. If the game is differeent between the two systesms, I apologize. The game is difficult and requires learning the dodge/parry mechanic. Act 1 is the most forgiving, as i assume the game is giving the player time to learn. Act 2 takes off the gloves. Turning down the difficulty to Story mode did not help. It was ok for a while, but I learned that some Boss fights REQUIRE you Parry to do damage and survive. Otherwise, the Boss (+minions) will overwelm you with their attacks. Even in Story mode, the Parry (very small window of opportunity) was not something I could replicate time and again. I was able to get the dodge, but that only allowed me to survive a little longer. To beat the game, you will have to Parry (no damage to your characters and increased damage to the Boss). Since it's turn-based combat, the fights last a long time with plenty of opportunities to mess it up. I don't care about being the best and only wanted to finish the game. Definitely rent or borrow this game!!!
