Works of Linux
I was able to run without any troubles on Arch Linux with Wine 1.5.29. Just run LOCO.exe instead of GOGLauncher.exe.

I Don't Know Why People Are Whining
I think people are just stuck in the past. Shame on them for condemning this game. This game is very good. I tried all the variations of Transport Tycoon and I just don't see what the big deal is. It just feels clunky and shows signs that it hasn't aged very well if it requires fan additions/modifications. My first Chris Sawyer game was RollerCoaster Tycoon. I felt very comfortable with that interface style for years. Playing Locomotion made it very easy to just pick up and play because it feels very similar to RollerCoaster Tycoon, unlike Transport Tycoon. I'm not saying Locomotion is perfect, every game has its flaws, but it certainly isn't bad either. I have not bought this game here on GOG because I do have the CD version. I may buy it here in the future because CDs don't last forever.

Lots of fun
If you objectively look at this game it is a lot of fun. If you try to compare it to Transport Tycoon like many on here are doing you may end up disappointed. There's a reason it is not called Transport Tycoon 2. Because it is not trying to be a sequel.

Flawed, but worth a play
This is the direct successor to Transport Tycoon, and I'd say this game doesn't quite live up to that, but it still absolutely worth a play. Improvements over Transport Tycoon: You can build diagonally. The camera rotates in 4 directions. Extremely detailed maps. Gorgeous pre-rendered graphics, some of the best of it's time. Satisfying scenario play, this is the main draw of the game for me. Parts that are worse than Transport Tycoon: Vehicle AI is frustratingly bad, often completely misinterpreting your orders. The order system has been hugely simplified, making some setups not work properly. (Try delivering grapes without your train picking up the wine it creates) Limited vehicle selection, especially in America Competitors somehow have WORSE AI than Transport Tycoon, which is insane considering how terrible it was in TTD. In general, almost every aspect of the game is simplified, to a detriment. However, the game is still fun and despite frustrations with the order system, it is still a Chris Sawyer game, which are deeply satisfying.

I love this game.
I found that most people under-rate this game because of the very small amount of change from Transport Tycoon to Locomotion. I have played Roller Coaster Tycoon and loved it. This game is no different besides the fact that's it has a more competitive gameplay on it. I know there are a few flaws with the game but if Transport Tycoon wasn't out this game wouldn't have so many negative reviews. In my opinion this game is defiantly a keeper.
