For early access I feel pricing is highly relevant, is the asking price worth it in the games current state 2019-10-24?
As beautiful as the world is there isn't much in it to do. There are very few locations, what is there, missionwise, has been bland. The AI is abysmal, you'll see two guys standing side by side, you murder one guy with a sneak attack and then proceed to "sneak" attack the other guy who noticed nothing.
There are plenty of early access grievances. It can totally end up a much better game than stalker, but in its current state I feel it is both more expensive and a lot worse. 2019-10-24
The atmosphere is decent, but when the game tries to flex for horror the only thing it really has going for it is jump scares, which isn't typically "horror". What scares someone is personal, subjective, but that doesn't mean we don't have decades of exploring the art of horror to learn more about the human psyche; jumping to sudden sensory assault isn't the same as something causing terror within a person, and the game almost exclusively attempts at the former (sometimes entirely randomly with zero build up of tension) while having not much of anything to present to actually instill fear within the player.
For its other mechanics the game is a little weak due to missions not being timed and resource management not being terribly difficult. If anything the "spookiness" and storms hitting kind of clash with the main atmosphere when exploring.
Overall below average; shallow attempts at horror holding back a strong, even if derivative, gameplay foundation.
I was very excited to play this game as a fan of the Stalker franchise, but unfortunately ended up very disappointed.
The game's description very highly emphasizes exploration, but fails to mention the time limit on every mission.
Nothing kills stealth or exploration more than a time limit, and both of those things are important parts of this game.
The game has very real potential, but the time limit absolutely destroyed what fun I was having.
I recommend holding off and keeping an eye on the development, but not buying the game.
Well, with the game in current state I got bored after the first mission from the camp: press SCAN button - go to green highlighted point - grab something - repeat. Voice actors play quite unnatural. Anyway, good start for EA, hope later this game becomes much better.
I like this game. I like immersing myself in this world. When I wandered through the woods at night on the headphones, the sounds made a huge impression on me. The sound of the dosimeter effectively restrained me from exploring the contaminated zone. Once, when I came across a patrol of soldiers and had to escape from them, the sound of a dosimeter made me lose hope of rescue. On the one hand, soldiers who wanted to kill me, on the other hand, a contaminated zone and unknown terrain. I breathed a sigh of relief when I survived.
To make it not so colorful, this is an early access version. Therefore, childhood errors may appear in it. Nevertheless, due to the immersion of the zone, I can turn a blind eye to it for now.
