Brutal Legend

I was pleasantly surprised, it was a funny game with an extremely cool cast and soundtrack, I wish there'd be more metal soundtracks in video games, the choice of tracks from all those well known metal bands was quite good too and the tracklist is extremely long. Of course it's like a console game through and through, but a fun experience after all and the graphics look nice and don't run too bad on my old system. Still searching for the last stuff I didn't find in the game but it's only a matter of time now. Having Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy Kilmister, Rob Halford, Jack Black etc... doing the voices and appearing ingame at very many occasions was really cool. It took me 12,5h to complete. The multiplayer mode is actually quite fun (micro strategy game where you can fight alongside your minions in many different ways) and it's cool that you can play the gothic and demon/deathmetal faction too, too bad it's not LAN compatible and only possible via steam, but at least it has an offline AI mode. :) Spoiler: I was laughing hard when I saw that the girl becomes a goth and founds her black tears faction with zombies, corpse brides etc... after she felt betrayed by Eddie, that's exactly what I've seen from many girls that always clinged to metalheads. Her faction with the depressive emo zombies is fun to play too.

DAMN its still so good. I just like this game. Everything about this game is Metal m/ Even the Skybox in the game is metal!!!! If you like Metal, Musik and a good Story, with GREAT characters, then you HAVE to buy this. This game made me buy an XBox 360 (seriously), only to realize, that it will come out on PC 2 years later. What did i do? I bought it...3 more times...yepp... I have it on: XBox 360 Steam Steam through Humble Bundle (DoubleFine Bundle for Psychonauts) Boxed Version from IndieBox BUY IT!!! GO AHEAD! DO EHT!!!!

Greatness in this game. As mentioned in previous reviews it's a mashup of RPG, RTS, combat driving and story, among other things. At full price this game is worth it. At sale price a steal. A glorious steal. It's not an easy game, it will challenge you. It also is one of the few games that has lines that made me actually laugh out loud. At one point Ozzy did something so hilarious I just lost it laughing. Let's not forget that Lemmy is in this game. Pay your respects. He lives forever in Brutal Legend.

As for a game I would give it one less star. Gameplay has its flaws, sure, especially RTS part was kinda chaotic... Or maybe it's just me, because such genre isn't my cup of tea? Anyway, despite lacking jump button and getting stuck in few places playing BL was a pure pleasure. What's worth mentioning? Huge licensed music base to listen in your car when roaming around greatly designed areas looking like right from Iron Maiden CDs covers. Moreover - short but nice story starred by many metal legends. Sometimes it felt like they push too much about "what true metal is", especially in the beginning, but as a whole game doesn't discriminate anyone, even this "joke" track from the start finds it place in mouth of metal. ;) I would say this game is like metal history and culture in a pill, enjoy it as an art and nostalgia generator, gaming part isn't the most important there, even if it's pretty decent overall. Description seems not to mention it but it's GOTY edition of the game with all dlcs possible, even these avaiable only for preorders long time ago (as I checked on wiki). It really makes this gem shiny!
