Brilliant

Having finished all previous Broken Sword games I must say the 5th game in series is worth the money. It holds many easter eggs for players that have played BS1 & 2. The story is as light-hearted as we got used to by the series, and it's well-written playing with conspiracy theories just right. The humour - I personally like it (may be a little bit silly for some). The backgrounds are great. The characters rendering - I would prefer everything in 2d, but it keeps up with the rest of graphics. Music and dubbing - on spot. If you haven't played the previous games in series, you'll want to, just to hear Nico's French accent ;) To sum up, I strongly recommend it - just buy and play, especially if you are not a hardcore adventure games player - the whole BS series is more casual than the rest of old-school point and click games. Beware - you can still get stuck when not saving frequently!

16 years is a long time, but it was worth

Was really filled with nostalgia during experiencing Broken Sword 5. After Broken Sword 2 back in 1997, and mediocre BS3 and a horrendous BS4, this was the first true successor to the series, so glad about this. Amazing graphics, really nice puzzles, decent voiceovers, great soundtrack and a story true to the spirit of Broken Sword is all what you need from your favourite series. A minor issue with the ending and the final confrontation with Langham which could be richer. --WARNING - GAME BREAKING BUG , Spoiler follows -- Near the end at Eden, if you light the sausage on the goat and then throw the fig at the path for her to follow, but WITHOUT having her eaten the yarn first (what?!), game freezes for ever. (version 2.2) -----

Good Old Fashioned game

I played BS 1 and 2. Read reviews tht 3 and 4 broke away from the gameplay so skipped those. Really liked BS5. It has a mix of puzzles with some really make you think. I also thought the graphics were really pretty and made you want to explore. I always enjoy adventure games that take you to different real world locations and provide a bit of history. This game had a good feel and no sense of claustrophobia. I had no play issues. Once I thought I had a bug but found out I just had not done an action to allow me to continue. Smooth running and fun. Well done.

worth it!

As a fan of quest games i can only say it is not a bad game. not at all. good graphics, good music, nice story. puzzles are logical, but sometimes quite challenging (cyrillics i look at you). Game crashed a few times after long hours of play, but autosave does a good job. All around good game.

Solid comeback

Classic old school point&click adventure with great visual and catching story. Bit too linear, with kind of unbalanced difficulty of puzzles. First half is pretty simple, but second has some tricky ones. Luckily hint system is absolutely fantastic (I wish to have it back in "90ties"). Game pace is rather slow, so definitely not for someone more "action oriented". I would say it is not better then fantastic BS2 (and some other adventure gems of that era), but still holds the flag and definitely worthy to give it a try.
