The Idea, graphics, sound, come together in an good game. Some of the puzzles are more trial and error than logical. They could have made more puzzles which used the 5 characters more.

I've been gaming since Tir Na Nog in 1984. Botanicula is my favorite game so far. It is completely immersive and utterly delightful...and weird in the nicest possible way.

This game is one of the most beautiful games I have played. Visually it is stunning and original. It is like a work of art more then a simple computer game. It's quirky - the little characters, the music by DVA (the soundtrack is worth it) and all the cute little sound effects. On your journey you meet hundreds of funny little creatures who each come wit their own card you collect. Interacting with the world is what makes this game the most fun. The point of the game is to work your way around this tree, solving puzzles so you can save the forest from the evil spiderish parasites. It is not a hard game, unlike Machanirium (one of Amanita's other games) which had me running to the walkthrough every five minutes! In other words, you won't find yourself stuck very often as the puzzles are more intuitive than logical. You will enjoy the game more for the artistic beauty, the relaxation and the discovery more then trying to solve the puzzle or complete the story. It is the kind of game you can easily come back to again and again just to be back in that little world. It is a brilliant game that will calm and soothe you. I don't think I can say that about many games. It is beautiful.

The game is clever and immersive. Wonderful graphics and music come together for an excellent gaming experience. The premise is simple as is gameplay, but there are challenges that are not always self evident. You have to explore the setup to get the full enjoyment of the game, but the scenario is engaging enough to make the exploration not feel like a chore.
