An ominous presence has enveloped the small village of Treihadwyl and draped it in a shroud of paralyzing terror. As shadows grow larger the population grows smaller. Zendick the evil overlord and his undead army are feeding on the inhabitants. Now all that stands between the carnage and the land of Trazere is the Bloodwych, a secret alliance of psychic sorcerers. Divided, they would crumble under the overlord's power. But together there is at least a glimmer of hope of defeating the scourge that's devouring the countryside.
 

 

  • A dark fantasy role play adventure that pits your strategic thinking against an insane ruler and his mystical forces.
  • Fully communicate with other characters and creatures with an advanced character interaction system.
  • Argue, barter, even lie to other characters to gain control of essential elements, or simply wield your knives, wands, rings, staves, missiles, fire and bows and arrows to get your way.
  • Commend or correct your allies to increase their initiative and ability to fight during combat.
  • Ultimately confront the hideous Lord Of Entropy who wishes to dissolve the fabric of the universe into the chaotic elements from which it was formed.

What improvements we made to this game:
1.1 GOG v2 (28 October 2025)
  • Updated keyboard movement controls to a more modern layout:
    • W – forward, S – back, Q – turn left, E – turn right, A – step left, D – step right
  • Added controller support through DOSBox mapping. Controller type and player assignment can now be selected in the Game Configurator (for example, “Xbox Player 1” makes Player 1 use an Xbox controller)
  • Added an option in the Game Configurator to view gamepad controls
  • Added a one-click fix button for broken save files (missing stairs issue) in the Game Configurator. This automates a process that previously required manual DOSBox commands
  • Added the command.com file from DOS 5 to enable automatic save file fixes via FOR loops
  • Renamed the cloud_saves folder to cloud to ensure proper DOS compatibility
  • Automated sound and graphics setup using stuffit.com, so AdLib and VGA are now auto-selected on launch. These can still be changed in the Game Configurator
  • Improved default DOSBox graphics settings for better visuals: resolution now matches the desktop, output is set to OpenGL, and the Galaxy Overlay has been disabled due to compatibility issues
  • Stability validated
  • Fully compatible with Windows 10 and 11

Does Bloodwych have DRM?

No! GOG games have no DRM and can be played without an internet connection, totally offline. Some bonus content might require an internet connection to download, but we do our best to limit that need. Read more about DRM.

Do you need GOG Galaxy to play Bloodwych?

No! You do not need GOG Galaxy to play Bloodwych. GOG gives you the option to download a fully offline installer and install Bloodwych that way, without using GOG Galaxy. Old but Gold

Leider ist der welcome back Bug vetreten und es gibt kein weiterkommen, daher nur ein Stern von mir. Schade um das Spiel. Unfortunately, the Welcome Back Bug has occurred and there is no progress, so only one star from me. Shame about the game.

Crappy graphics, great gameplay!

Spent months playing coop on my friend's Amiga. Even back then, the graphics were meh, but we couldn't stop until we reached the end. There's a remake ("Hexx"), that adds Wolfenstein/Doom-like graphics, but, apart from the starting levels, the rest of the maps are the same, so if you finish one you'll most definitely master the other.

Some best childhood memories back in 89

Played this game with a friend from school back in 89 for months. Amazing coop experience back then. Thank you a lot Holger for those memories! And thank you GoG for bringing them back. A bit^^
