For the price of BloodRayne 2: Terminal Cut, the original version of BloodRayne 2 is also added to your GOG library.

BloodRayne 2: Terminal Cut Ultimate Update
Rayne returns to her updated second adventure. In addition to language and sound improvements, this patch introduces a rebalanced boss fight with Ephemera in the Twisted Garden to better match the experience players remember from the console version.
Update Features
  • Ephemera boss fight rebalanced
  • Restoration of missing music and audio tracks
  • Improved graphical fidelity for bonus materials
  • Russian language localization improvements
  • Miscellaneous bug fixes

Enhanced and updated for modern systems by the game's original developers, this is the definitive edition of BloodRayne 2.

BloodRayne is a dhampir, born from the unnatural union of vampire and human. Blessed with the powers of a vampire but cursed with the unquenchable thirst for blood and a weakness to sunlight, Rayne is challenged with her most personal battle yet as she hunts down her siblings. They have banded together and pledged to carry on their father's legacy of creating a new era of vampire supremacy where humans are mere cattle.

With new acrobatic movements and rail sliding, fast-paced blade and gun combat, fatal finishing moves, more dhampir powers like time control, and an extensive combo system, BloodRayne 2 is a brutally satisfying continuation of the iconic series.

Features and enhancements of the Terminal Cut edition, created by the game’s original development team:

Support for higher display resolutions (up to 4K / 3840x2160).
  • Upscaled cinematic videos
  • Support for modern gamepads (XInput)
  • Improved rendering with up to 4x anti-aliasing
  • Improved lighting with higher resolution light maps
  • Support for higher texture resolutions, allowing for use of uncompressed original textures
  • Improvements to visual effects and reflections

Fixes The Problems On Modern PC's!

I don't know about you, but I could never get this game to work properly. And even when it did, it was so archaic in terms of controller compatibility that it wasn't even fun to play. Now I don't know how far we can go to say that the game was remastered, I mean, these are still PS2 graphics. But that's cool with me, I never had the game on the PS2 and was looking to play the PC port, which is why I bought it originally. I did not realize it would take so long to get a fully optimized version, which is what this iteration of the game does. It works! It actually works, and I could not be more thrilled. Although I love the original game, I think I like this one a bit more so far. It seems to play more like a beat em' up (or slash em' up rather) and isn't overly complicated. Plus, there are ridiculous amounts of blood and gore, so that's always a plus for games like this. So far, so good. It's worth noting that the game now supports higher resolutions and widescreen, plus you no longer need the patches. If you had the game working before, you may not necessarily need this - but if you're like me and could never get it to run properly or work with your controller as it should, then this is a real treat. Because of this, I can now actually play and finish the game. Thanks, Ziggurat. You guys rock!

Rayne is good but the game is a not so

First of all, I'm really glad for the remake, because the original game doesn't support modern hardware and looks terrible. (+) Pros + Rayne is stil hot and sexy. And her animations are something you will never forget. + There are a lot of gore and blood in the game. After killing a group of enemies there would be blood everywhere + The dissecting system allows you to cut an opponent in half, decapitate or cut them an arm or a leg. And your prey would not necessary die on spot (they try to run from you even after losing a limb and die in a second or two ) (-) Cons: - All the tasks (can't call theem puzzles) here are absolutely similar - you have to push some enemies into a device to break it and open the passage to next stage - All the battles feel similar - BR's attacks are pretty weak (blades/kicks) so you'd prefer "feeding" on all the enemies to kill them instantly. Guns are pretty good against small fries but deal 0 dmg against bosses and minibosses - Mb the problem of remake but the beginning levels has missing music. No battle music at all until later levels - During acrobatics trials Rayne sometimes jumps in the wrong direction

still nowhere as good as first part

The only thing this game has really in common with first part is main character. She might look better due to better graphics, but the game mechanics from the original has been ruined. - first part had very freestyle and dynamic combat, here you can either try pulling the same few weak attacks until enemy is dead or just give up and feed on him until he dies - no challenge - guns are rather useless - all boss fights are the same and boring - first one had crazy and mad atmosphere involving psycho nazis taking over the world, here i think there is some boring vampire lord doing something evil, one does not even care - overall first game was fun, this one is ok to play through first episode, after that its boring and tedious as hell, i almost regret playing it till the end.

BloodRayne is back!!

Bloodrayne 2 never worked greatly on my PC. Somehow I was missing a lot of dialogue and even entire Cutscenes. At some point I was so confused about the story that I stopped playing it. Now with the Terminal Cut I can finally experience the whole game at its full potential. And I am really fascinated what a difference Widescreen makes. The Cutscenes are really good even from todays standard. The game feels fresh and familiar at the same time. Similar to BloodRayne1 there are some improvements in lighting, texturing and, very important, anti-aliasing. It is basically the same game as it was before but much better. Especially from a technical perspective (Cutscenes were a big problem in the original release and I am glad the Terminal Cut changed that). Bloodrayne 2 differs a lot from his predecessor. Yes you still slash your way through hordes of enemies. But the way you do it is very different. BloodRayne 2 has a Combo System where you can combine from a pretty large list of options your attacks to your liking. Kick and Blade Attacks now have separated keys and BR2 also introduces different Feeding-Fatalities to the franchise. The Focus of this game lies heavily on visual Enhancements and its Gameplay-Elements. Dialogue is still present, but feels sometimes a bit rushed and unfinished in Comparison to BloodRayne1. Nevertheless Bloodrayne 2 is a worthy successor to BloodRayne1 and I do hope we will see more of this franchise in the future. Maybe even a 3D Bloodrayne 3? I would most definitely buy it. And always remember: She's on the hunt again. Hide if you can.

Not worth it

The biggest problem with the first game was the melee combat, which felt very stiff and awkward, so the sequel instead made the melee combat the main focus of the gameplay and tries to imitate other games that were popular at the time. Think Prince of Persia, Soul Reaver, or Devil May Cry. The problem is that its execution in Bloodrayne 2 is just terrible, with buggy hit detection, annoying camera, janky animations, and frustrating difficulty. Not only that but pretty much every other aspect of the game is also broken to some degree. Especially platforming, where you will frequently fail jumps because of the poor collision detection or because you fell through the level geometry and into the void. The updated visuals and even more extreme (albeit comical) gore are a minor positive but the game just isn't fun to play at all. I finished it once many years ago and I can still remember that it was an extremely frustrating ordeal. So when I attempted to replay it recently, thinking that I might gain a different perspective after so many years, I just gave up after the first few levels once it became clear that it wasn't just me, and the game really was as bad as I remembered.
