Blood: Fresh Supply

I love this game, and its nice to have it updated to support 4k and original CD music to. I'm using this on my Ubuntu machine and installed it via the standard wine install with no issues, it throws up some 'error' while installing but simply click threw them and its good to go on the other side.

I've tried to beat Blood a few times already while having problems such as compatibility and dated controls, but this remaster fixes them all, so I've finally finished it. :) It's definitely THE way to play the game if someone didn't play it beforehand, and even then it's a really good "port". Runs on modern systems, supports Vulkan, no FPS limit, actual 3D renderer... and most importantly, the mouselook doesn't suck! The game itself, while very difficult at times is AWESOME and insanely fun. The levels aren't too long, the enemies and weapons are varied, so the game doesn't get boring very quickly. Levels can be creepy at times, but the tension is broken by Caleb's one-liners and maniacal laugh, which makes you feel like a real psycho. >:D The only problems with the remaster that I've noticed are odd behaviors of the beast and mother spiders. I wish I could check if they're just faithful to the original, but (another issue) while the remaster includes all data files of the original game, it does not come with the original DOS executable. A shame, though excusable.

Don't get me wrong this remaster is fine aspecially at 4 euro, but with BloodGDX and nBlood out there I'm not sure if it's worth even that. The thing is this remaster is couple of years too late, had it come out when the only way to play Blood was through DosBox I would've throughn any amount of money at the devs and never complained. But when there are other options out there and those other ports aren't in any way worse and in some ways even more polished (at least GDX is), I'm not sure if there's even any point for this remaster to exist. If Nightdive patch out all the problems with this I might change my review, but as it is right now you could just as well throw a few bucks at the guy developing the GDX port, at least he's doing it for the love of the game.

A very good game! This version works perfectly on Amiga computers with Blood Amiga port (you can find it on Aminet). I would highly recommend! i live again! Only Amiga makes it possible! ;)

I've struggled for the longest time to get my old dos file to work without glitching out on my laptop, and I've played tons of mods and clever reconstructions of this great game... watched video reviews on how it's been through an endless mess, and it seemed like I would never be able to experience the way BLOOD was meant to be, well bs BUY THIS GAME! Night Dive, did a wonderful job getting this out and working great... PLUS it comes with a ton of extras like the dos version one whole unit, soundtrack and more, I just sat here until the sun came enjoying every moment. When I saw it was discounted from 9.99 to 5 bucks and some change at checkout, I did a little dance............... THANK YOU GOG!
