BioShock™ Remastered

I might be too old for having a valid opinion, but IMHO - if THIS was released back in the day, together with the random crashes of this extent, the game would flop as hard as did Arcanum and of Troika Games. One would think with these budgets - you would invest in some professional QA. And pleeease, don't tell yourself - oh I will patch the configs manually and do some hacks and patches from da forums. This is not a community mod or an open source engine playing some old WAD files. This is as AAA as it gets. Oh well. At least I got a free copy of the classic game with it.

The game itself can be entertaining for some but this "remastered" version is a terrible mess. Unfortunately this is the version sold on Steam full of bugs and crushes and remastered in a old way. It was not remastered to the level of a game from 2019. On Steam the game has mixed reviews, i dont know how come on GOG has 4.5 but from a technically point of view this doesnt worth more than 2.5 start or more than 5 euro.

It is unplayable, every 5 min crash. the worst part is that the game is entertaining and immersive invites you to sit and play for hours and also improves many things that the predecessor did but because of the horrible work that developers did with the remaster all of the above does not matter if you can not play more than 5 min.

Its a solid game, a little confined spatially , but good otherwise. My issue is the instability, unable to save or play reliably

I'll admit it, I brought this because I was a pretty big fan when it originally came out, and you know how it goes "ohh its all shiny and cheap it couldnt be that bad" Those rose tinted glasses didnt quite cover up everything. I didn't have as much trouble as every one else, mine where mainly physics based. Particually with things that you have killed that wouldnt stop moving and they would slowly move off to the left and get stuck in a wall. That was a new one, but what made the pretty facade fall to the floor was when a old bug from the original game welcomed me back (the one where the retical doesnt change between plasmid and weapon) If you know what your in for your still getting the same, an interesting start with the peak happening in the middle and with and ending that had much left to be desired. With I guess some additional content, commentary tracks a "what if" gallery, that i used it for 10 mins and forgot about it and I think three challange maps but should that really count? Personally for what I payed for im not that mad and I do reccomend this if you have not expirenced this, even though the twist is spoiled to death by now But if Dark Souls remastered didn't teach you this will definently make you more wary of the term "remastered" and that it deserves very big finger quotes around it. Now would you kindly....Buy it on sale By the way, Ryan is voiced by Principal Snyder from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, isn't that weird...
