Beyond Good & Evil™

If you've read all the other GOG.com reviews, you'll already know that BG&E is a wonderful game, and that you should buy it. What you're probably trying to decide is whether to buy the original PC version from here, or to buy the HD remake on Xbox live arcade for 800 points. Essentially, the HD remake is a tweaked version of the original PC game, which ran in much higher resolutions than the PS2 and Xbox versions anyway. The additions include adding achievements and Xbox live scoreboards. The HD remake also works a bit better with a 360 joypad compared to the PC version, but if these are not important to you, I'd definitely stick with the GOG.com version.

Others before me have said what ought to be said of this game: that it has very smooth gameplay, phenomenal atmosphere, a strong [realistic] female protagonist, and a good cast of characters. The game is light-hearted while managing to be serious at times (particularly in the last area of the game) and I could not recommend it more. Shame there's no sequel... yet... I played this on my old playstation 2. Great game. Just an epicly great game. Loved every second of it, while it had a few frustrations, the fact that you have to sneak up to the gaurds, instead of just pick a huge gun and shoot their heads adds some originality to this game. epic.

A well-crafted experience that blends a compelling story with suspenseful game-play. The gap between game-play and story is very narrow, resulting in a very immersive story-driven experience. It is filled with a few graphical anomalies that can make the ride a bit bumby though. The main issue I have with Beyond Good and Evil, is that it tries to provoke emotion in the most cliche of ways. For example, this game overuses slow piano melodies at times. But I do have a lot of respect for them for trying to create dramatic impact.

This game is awesome, a lot like windwaker. I never really thought it looked very good despite people saying it was good but I finally bought it and it is most definitely worth it man, get it.
