This game is good-old fashioned cyberdystopia, but it gets mired in goose chases and silly dialog. I love the gadgetry, twisting storyline, and futuristic setting, but it's mostly a lot of walking around talking to everybody and doing menial tasks to get a bit of hilarity and cool bionic implants. If this were focused more on story and action, it would be great.
as someone new to GOG.com, I am happy to be a part of the site.
I have only played a few point-and-click in my life, one of them being grim fandango, which one of the best games I have ever played. BENEATH A STEEL SKY is yet another of the hidden gems that I find and love. I hope to find more games like this.
Beneath a Steel Sky has an awesome script and an average interface. This would merit a 5 star rating except for the inevitable 'got stuck because I had to do something out of the ordinary in a linear story' problem. Only one or two of them, but as it can completely ruin the flow if you aren't thinking the same things as the game developers it can really hurt.
Tho i love the story and the atmosphere it has too many points when it isn't all that logical what's there to do next. 4 stars for sure, hiven with some dialogue glitches.
The game itself was fantastic and I did enjoy every little bit of it however the plot could of been extended more there was so many things that we did not figure out! They just added more questions with no conclusions! The ending was just nothing it left me with disappointment.
However the puzzles were brill and some were very tricky but it did over complicate things you would figure them out easily. There was sometimes I had to go online for help but thats because I am stupid. Also the characters are very entertaining they have amazing voices and sometimes leave me laughing at the things they say.
So all in all great game but could be extended!
