Description
“Our troops were swept away, General, and then the sect stopped its advance right before the gates to Hallwa. We have an ultimatum from the leader of the sect. She is demanding a kind of duel, sir, and will accept only you as her opponent.”

The year is 345 N.A. on the planet Chromos, a civilization that once boasted a flourishing society ruled by the Council of the Wise. Power struggles, corruption, war – that is the reality on Chromos now and, with the Andosia War, the Battle Isle saga continues with new features to the series by bridging the gap between turn based and real time combat.

NVIDIA compatibility notice: Under Windows XP (32-bit), Battle Isle: The Andosia War requires graphic card drivers version 285.58 or older.
  • The last, and arguably the best, installment of the famous Battle Isle series
  • A unique combination of real-time and turn-based strategy elements
  • Two sides to align yourself with, each with its own campaign

Best game i have tried

I got the orginal version, with CD and such, and i must say, i took me FOREVER to beat the game first time, but the storyline in my own opinion and the voice acting are great for this game, some my not agree, but i love(d) this game super much, and will continue to play it now and then! The sad part, in my opinion is that if one patches the game beyond 1.66, cheats no longer works, and it's fun to go play on a network game (single player style) and get lots of resources and lot-a units at the near beginning before one battles it out and wins... This game requires lot of patience and time on your hands as the game can feel a LOT of the times that it will take forever for anything to happen, often one ends up spending a half to a full hour in just preparing ones units for battle, and yet another half to a full hour to get to the battle zones... but once ones own armies clashes with the enemies, it's really cool. The let down, however is that i myself finds the game short lived, the only reason for the game taking so damned long is the game play style of turned based game play and the time you use to set up you're units... but overall, still to short, and does not offer much change in the long run. i rate it 5/5 or 9/10 This is among the top 10 games i have had my hands, amazing game, don't miss out on it... (Oh and, hopefully someone can write a better review then me, but these are my words...) Oh and another funny little detail i'd like to note: Even with today's computers, this game is still able to "eat" up much of the CPU and other things, which to me is somewhat funny.

Find yourself a good podcast...

...to wait out long enemy turns. The game is an interesting concept: fusion between real time and turn-based strategy. Each turn has limited time you can use to command your units, before your opponent's turn starts (you can also end your turn manually sooner). The economy, building and research, however, happens in real time. What does it mean? The game plays very slowly, as you want to maximize your turn allotted time to build as much buildings and units and make as much research as you can. What's more, enemy's turns can be long. At first they take only 2 min each, but in the later missions they take 8 min. Let's say you'll complete a mission in 40 turns. 40 * 8 min / 60 = 5.3 h of the "lost" time each mission, when you're doing nothing and your enemy often seems to do little, too. And the game offers 2 campaigns (12 + 10 missions) plus you can find additional 4 mission campaign Commander Fox in the web. As you can imagine, You'll have many "lost" hours if you want to complete everything. Good book or podcast is must to play the game. Besides that, the game tends to be unstable in the last missions (due to quantity of units and buildings on map I think). I even got situations where game crashed to desktop just after I loaded save (too much to display I think), rendering that [particular save useless. Fortunately it could be remedied by turning camera towards the sky before saving game. Then loading game didn't cause crash. Also the last mission of Children of Harris was bugged for me: completing one of mission goals caused game crash every time. It's a shame the game can be somewhat buggy and enemy turns take too much time as I really liked it's turn based combat and story. I don't regret playing it but I don't think I'll ever play it again, just because the time needed to complete it.
