Banished is a city building game where you control a group of exiled people who are restarting their
lives in the wilderness. They have only the clothes on their backs and a cart filled with supplies
from their homeland.
The townspeople work, build, get older, have children, and eventually die. Keeping them healthy,
happy, and fed are essential to making a successful town grow. Any structure can be built at any
time, provided that your people have collected the resources to do so.
There are many occupations that the people can perform from farming, hunting, and blacksmithing, to
fishing, teaching, and healing. You can choose to replant forests, mine for iron, and quarry
for rock, and more!
Build a city with any layout you want with almost no restriction on when, what, and where you build.
Keep the population happy and healthy by providing them with food and warm shelter.
Watch the town grow as you assign 20 different jobs to build buildings, grow food, craft tools and clothing, and more!

Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
I am not very good with words, but I really enjoy playing this game!
I have heard of people in my home who may have "discovered" it on TPB and then bought it on GOG ;-)
Just saying...
Soooo....I've watched everyone die over a dozen times now. I first followed the tutorial. Which taught me that some F+(or clicking) buttons control which menu you select, and learned how to build buildings. Great! The problem then is, which damn buildings do I need?!
So over a dozen times I've watched my village, composed of either entirely just fishermen, farmers, or over 2/3 farmers/fishermen all starve to death in front of me. Why? I don't know and the game won't tell me. I assumed there is some way to make this thing work. I was apparently wrong. I don't condemn games easily, I gave it 15-20 tries.
But hey, at least a small minority got to freeze to death in the first half-dozen games! Yeah, so I made sure to get them warm clothing. But no matter what, everybody dies of starvation. Wheeeee............
Pros: Older but not ugly-looks alright, especially for something on GoG
The little bit I can make work before it kills me, seems fun
Cons: You are fucked no matter what
Until very recently I had this on S****, but I had a look at a beta and it blew the game up. Removed etc ad tried again. No go. I am quite happy to buy it here but need to know it will work, is there a trial ver available before I commit????
Dull, stale, infuriating, and really pointless. I like this kind of game, but when my peeps starve or freeze to death because resources are sent to the wrong building, it kinda makes it pointless. Logic went out the window. 3 hours, and felt like i was just treading water. Deleted.
It was an interesting challenge to get the first village to survive for more than a few years without the villagers starving to death. But from the point where I had a functioning community, it became rather dull. There are no goals to achieve, or reward from creating a bigger city. For me it was a nice game to spend a couple of evenings playing, but I much prefer e.g. the Anno series in terms of variation of game play and replay value.
