Ignore the drama , its more Baldurs Gate and it plays like Baldurs Gate.
Hearing the old voice actors reprising their roles, was almost worth it by itself.
It does have some bugs that need ironing out but overall a fun experience.
This is a very good game. It is a fantastic addition to the Baldurs Gate Universe. The developer should be praised for curating and further developing this fantastic game. The game has some bugs at lunch but the developer has a track record of fixing this issues in the past.
Unfortunately a lot of reviewers are giving the game low scores for the appearance of a minor transgender NPC. The game also makes a minor joke at the expense of the gammers gate crowd. Critics argue that the game forces social Justice on the player. This is very unfortunate. RPGs are about a fantasy world were writers and creators can tackle social issues. Who is against Social Justice.? There are people who define their freedom as the limits for others. If I can not imagine this character or disagree with this persons views or preferences then they can not be included. This is not freedom but right wing political correctness. You have the freedom to be like them and nothing more, If you are not what they consider mainstream you are to be marginalized and ghettoized even on the Internet. For the love of god if you cant handle a minor NPC character move on and enjoy the rest of the game. Bioware and the creators of Dungeons and Dragons have always have these type of characters in their games. The job of writers and developers is to tackle difficult issues to create worlds that are rich and diverse. They should not be forced or intimidated to narrow their writing and our experiences to that which is acceptable to the four corners of narrow minds.
If you love Baldurs Gate this game is worth your time and your money. Support this game. it would be a great loss to the industry if a great developer is forced out of business by the forces of intolerance.
Was about to complete the shopping checkout but got a rude shock at the sight of the tons of comments. That tells alot about the game itself (as well as the behavior of the fellows responsible for the mess that is Dragonspear). A big n fat THANKS to the gog peers and their gumption for sparing me a huge disappointment.
