There aren't a lot of AAA titles optimized for Apple Silicon so when one does come out, it has the market cornered and that's what we see here. Anyone who wants to witness the true potential of the M1 chip optimized for gaming, there is no other game besides BG3 that can show you the true performance of the chip is capable of. I am baffled at how pristine the graphics look coming out of this machine. The optimization is truly unparalleled.
Now, onto the game itself. If you are a fan of any of the following: RPG, turn-based strategy, D&D, immersive story-telling, dungeon crawlers, fun, etc, then this game is absolutely for you. BG3 is still in early access but there is more than enough things to do in the game to occupy your time.
Players are free to make any decisions they like to augment the story of the game, build their characters however they like, and the strategic decisions you can make to turn the tides of a battle are endless.
Did I mention the graphics are just drop dead gorgeous? Because it is. The texture of my characters felt so real I was almost convinced I was creating a real person. It just simply cannot be overstated how amazing this looks. Especially if you have a MacBook Pro with an M1 chip, GET THIS!
What can I say? I didn't even finish my first playthrough but I'm hooked. I had some difficulties adjusting for the first 5/10 hours ingame cause I didn't really understand how classes worked, but nothing a good online guide can't fix (I blame my ignorance on DND classes and spells for this, not the game itself). I am playing Druide of Spores and oh man, once you get the hang of it it's super fun to do.
Overally, I can say if you like old games like DAO and stuff you're gonna absolutely have a blast with BG3: infinite possibilities, a lot of enjoable and lore rich companions, wonderful world to explore, a freedom I hardly found in other games on how to resolve all the difficulties on your path. Obviously the story itself, the npcs you meet on your journey, the visuals that are just amazing.
Can I say something bad about the game? I don't think so, honestly. So far the best game I have played in years. I absolutely reccomend it, it's worth its price.
