Description

Cross-platform multiplayer with Steam is supported.

Gather your party, and return to the Forgotten Realms in a tale of fellowship and betrayal, sacrifice and survival, and the lure of absolute power.

Mysterious abilities are awakening inside you, drawn from a Mind Flayer parasite planted in your brain. Resist, and turn darkness against itself. Or embrace corruption, and become ultimate evil.

From the creators of Divinity: Original Sin 2 comes a next-generation RPG, set in the world of Dungeons and Dragons.

Choose from a wide selection of D&D races and classes, or play as an origin character with a hand-crafted background. Adventure, loot, battle and romance as you journey through the Forgotten Realms and beyond. Play alone, and select your companions carefully, or as a party of up to four in multiplayer.

Abducted, infected, lost. You are turning into a monster, but as the corruption inside you grows, so does your power. That power may help you to survive, but there will be a price to pay, and more than any ability, the bonds of trust that you build within your party could be your greatest strength. Caught in a conflict between devils, deities, and sinister otherworldly forces, you will determine the fate of the Forgotten Realms together.

Forged with the new Divinity 4.0 engine, Baldur’s Gate 3 gives you unprecedented freedom to explore, experiment, and interact with a world that reacts to your choices. A grand, cinematic narrative brings you closer to your characters than ever before, as you venture through our biggest world yet.

The Forgotten Realms are a vast, detailed and diverse world, and there are secrets to be discovered all around you -- verticality is a vital part of exploration. Sneak, dip, shove, climb, and jump as you journey from the depths of the Underdark to the glittering rooftops of the Upper City. How you survive, and the mark you leave on the world, is up to you.

allows you to combine your forces in combat, and split your party to follow your own quests and agendas. Concoct the perfect plan together… or introduce an element of chaos when your friends least expect it.

offer a hand-crafted experience, each with their own unique traits, agenda, and outlook on the world. Their stories intersect with the entire narrative, and your choices will determine whether those stories end in redemption, salvation, domination, or many other outcomes.

based on the D&D 5e ruleset. Team-based initiative, advantage & disadvantage, and roll modifiers join combat cameras, expanded environmental interactions, and a new fluidity in combat that rewards strategy and foresight.

through your choices, and the roll of the dice. No matter who you play, or what you roll, the world and its inhabitants will react to your story.

allows you to pause the world around you at any time even outside of combat. Whether you see an opportunity for a tactical advantage before combat begins, want to pull off a heist with pin-point precision, or need to escape a fiendish trap. Split your party, prepare ambushes, sneak in the darkness -- create your own luck!

Baldur's Gate 3

Baldur's Gate 3 is the first game in a VERY long time where I am genuinely excited and eagerly anticipate the game being finished. Played tabletop AD&D when I was in my teens, over two decades ago as well as being amongst the generation that saw the beginning of video gaming and through all of it's evolutions to this point today from arcades to consoles to pc's and then to MMO's and just about everything in between. I stopped gaming years back when I finally broke myself away from MMO gaming because it was all just getting boring and stale. I've tried pushing myself to play random games here or there to no success until however it was I found myself checking some youtubers doing walkthroughs and the game caught my attention but told myself I'd hold off until a final product....well...I buckled and bought the game. Subsequently I've played through Early Access entirely 3 times, once at purchase, another after patch 4 and then finally within this latest 6th patch. I've seen the potential for what has thus far from other games been false advertisements for claiming choice consequence and this is dynamic or that is dynamic, blah blah blah. None of them truly fit the claim. Baldur's Gate 3 is so far 1 (growing) act and is limited in it's Early Access form to only the content within that first act. I spent 60 dollars on it and have also bought two more copies for friends who I assumed would Enjoy it as well. Think...I've enjoyed a restricted copy of an unfinished form of what this game will become so much I've basically spent 180 dollars plus whatever taxes. Money was slightly better but my financial situation is...lacking....end of the month eating maybe once a day so Im not rich or well off at all. If you enjoy RPG's, the D&D universe, you'd do yourself a favor by getting this game. KEEP IN MIND it IS still being completed and is in Early Access....don't be like some idiot expecting more than what it is. Save that expectation for the end result. it won't let you down!

Camera, character movement ruin the game

The whole process of playing the game is a cumbersome chore, and I don't care enough to get past the intro. I sure do miss Neverwinter Nights and the driver camera that followed behind your character, with WASD movement. Combat is also terribly slow. Once again, I'd rather just load up NWN. I'm beyond the point of refund, and don't expet I'll revisit with the current game mechanics. What a shame.

Early Access Good, More = More Better

So many people are on here complaining "But this RPG lets people make choices *I* wouldn't make!" like prudish, puritanical piss babies. It's a game full of murder and they're freaking out over a little imaginary sex. I've even seen reviews by people who ADMIT they haven't played the game. Piss. Babies. I HAVE played the game and I found it to be quite good. It's not in the style of the old BG games, but it has all the narrative depth they had and maybe even more. I cannot get over how even in early access this game has recorded lines of dialogue for almost every potential corpse in the game, so that those of us who gain access to the "speak with dead" spell can use it. That alone should be an indicator of what level of detail we're talking about here. The combat is turn based, not the old real-time-with-pause of the predecessor games. I was skeptical about this change at first but have learned to enjoy the new version in its own right. The combat is challenging, but suitably tactical moves can turn the tide. There's nothing quite like throwing a goblin off a roof onto another goblin, damaging/killing both. The long and the short of it is that this is a solid game, with a very detailed world, that neatly captures the essence of D&D 5e, in much the same way that the original two BG games were entwined with aD&D 2e. For those who are coming directly from the old games, remember; The higher the AC, the better this time!

Simply stunning

Despite several small imperfections, on which the team works tirelessly and which do not spoil the experience, it is one of the most beautiful and fun games ever played.

Fantastic game that people nitpick

This game is incredibly fun and well made. Any game this dense will likely have bugs. And this game does, on occasion. But Larian is quick to fix them. I myself have not come across any that are game breaking. I have well over 300 hours with multiple play throughs into this game. Tons of replayability and different ways the story can go. It really seems people are nitpicking this game to death, on GOG. Which is kind of sad.
