Description

Cross-platform multiplayer with Steam is supported.

Gather your party, and return to the Forgotten Realms in a tale of fellowship and betrayal, sacrifice and survival, and the lure of absolute power.

Mysterious abilities are awakening inside you, drawn from a Mind Flayer parasite planted in your brain. Resist, and turn darkness against itself. Or embrace corruption, and become ultimate evil.

From the creators of Divinity: Original Sin 2 comes a next-generation RPG, set in the world of Dungeons and Dragons.

Choose from a wide selection of D&D races and classes, or play as an origin character with a hand-crafted background. Adventure, loot, battle and romance as you journey through the Forgotten Realms and beyond. Play alone, and select your companions carefully, or as a party of up to four in multiplayer.

Abducted, infected, lost. You are turning into a monster, but as the corruption inside you grows, so does your power. That power may help you to survive, but there will be a price to pay, and more than any ability, the bonds of trust that you build within your party could be your greatest strength. Caught in a conflict between devils, deities, and sinister otherworldly forces, you will determine the fate of the Forgotten Realms together.

Forged with the new Divinity 4.0 engine, Baldur’s Gate 3 gives you unprecedented freedom to explore, experiment, and interact with a world that reacts to your choices. A grand, cinematic narrative brings you closer to your characters than ever before, as you venture through our biggest world yet.

The Forgotten Realms are a vast, detailed and diverse world, and there are secrets to be discovered all around you -- verticality is a vital part of exploration. Sneak, dip, shove, climb, and jump as you journey from the depths of the Underdark to the glittering rooftops of the Upper City. How you survive, and the mark you leave on the world, is up to you.

allows you to combine your forces in combat, and split your party to follow your own quests and agendas. Concoct the perfect plan together… or introduce an element of chaos when your friends least expect it.

offer a hand-crafted experience, each with their own unique traits, agenda, and outlook on the world. Their stories intersect with the entire narrative, and your choices will determine whether those stories end in redemption, salvation, domination, or many other outcomes.

based on the D&D 5e ruleset. Team-based initiative, advantage & disadvantage, and roll modifiers join combat cameras, expanded environmental interactions, and a new fluidity in combat that rewards strategy and foresight.

through your choices, and the roll of the dice. No matter who you play, or what you roll, the world and its inhabitants will react to your story.

allows you to pause the world around you at any time even outside of combat. Whether you see an opportunity for a tactical advantage before combat begins, want to pull off a heist with pin-point precision, or need to escape a fiendish trap. Split your party, prepare ambushes, sneak in the darkness -- create your own luck!

Good game, but plagued with bugs

I would give it 2.5 stars if I could. If it weren't for the bugs, I might give this game 5 stars. It is very well voice acted and all the characters feel meaningful and believable. The story is there until act 3 when they decide to introduce questionable characters and show weird cutscenes that are inconsistent with the rest of the game, such as villains talking in a room you are not in, very un-immersive and cliche IMO. I know BG3 has been in developments for a couple years now in early access, and recently had a "full release" but frankly it is unfinished (noticeable once you get to act 3) and communication from the developers has fallen off a cliff. They have been releasing random "hotfixes" which don't address most of the main issues and there is no communication as to whether they plan on fixing major issues or not. Some very random questionable decisions that no one asked for like Astarion's airbrushed abs for god sakes. At it's core, they made some questionable decisions with the development of the game like implementing DirectX 11 and not 12, lack of Nvidia frame generation, adding AMD FSR but only version 2.1 and not 3.0 etc. making us 4000 RTX owners look like we wasted our money on our cards when we get 40 FPS in the city! Once you get to act 3 there are game-breaking bugs as others have pointed out. SPOILER: I had a bug where I could not talk to Wyll's father because I destroyed the steel watch before confronting Gortash (because the draw-bridge was up) and when I did there was no cutscene and I felt like there should have at least been one. Tried everything from knocking him out to using necromancy with no luck in getting him on my side. Had to go back 8 hours just to fix it! The order I was supposed to do things was super unclear. I cannot believe this game has not gone on sale, even 20% off is something new buyers deserve. Overall avoid for a while until they release the actual final game.

Great D&D game, not Infinity Engine

Baldurs Gate 3 is a lot of fun, it doesn't use Infinity Engine so it wont play like the originals but its still a great game if you like D&D. So far I am enjoying the game regardless of the dialog bugs. Worth the price if you like D&D and Baldurs Gate games.

A really good RPG with D&D references

First let me state, I have both D:OS 1 and 2. That being said, I think it is really unfair and short sighted for other commenters to go on about this just being D:OS 3. It is not. Does it have a lot of game play similarities? Yes. But I mean, it is the studio that MADE D:OS so I don't hold that against them. Honestly, I got this game like 5 days ago, and I am already 30+ hours in, on my second play through. I was pretty hesitant to buy the game, because I made the mistake of reading all these reviews, and although I enjoyed D:OS, I wanted a different story, and slightly refined gameplay. This has that. Then you have the D&D 5e purists, that nitpick every little difference. This is a RPG game, not a tabletop. There will be difference. But what I enjoyed was the back story regarding D&D mythos that I easily recognized from my youth. So here it is, the game is beautiful, graphics stunning. The character models are very nice, and great emotional range on NPCs and companions during your cinematics. The quests are cool, the cinematics are beautiful. There are some little things I hope get fine tuned, but overall I am really enjoying it, and chomping at the bit to see more content, and where the companion stories go. There is already a great modding community for this game, so make sure to check that out. The game plays pretty clean, I think in 30+ hours I have had 2 crashes. There IS a couple cinematic bugs for the PC (especially with the dream sequences) but I am sure that will be fixed in patch 4. The only thing that bothers me, is after playing the content in alpha (which admittedly is larger than I expected). I just really....really don't want to wait a year or more for the full game. But so is life. In closing, don't let the "It's D:OS 3, not BG" people, or the "It's not true 5e GRRRR" people in the comments ruin it for you. If you like a good RPG game, this really is worth the investment in my opinion.

I love Pen and Paper = I love BG3

I have been playing BG3 since its EA release and boi did they improve. Yes it is still buggy and weird stuff CAN happen but my personal experience is still pretty solid and most bugs are more like "LOL DID YOU SEE THAT?", which partially kills the immersion. I want to recommend this game to players that have a similar mindset to mine. I like to play this game not just as a game, but more like an adventure that I am actually a part of. I roleplay all characters, I think about how my CHARACTER should act and not how I want to act and it works wonderful. That's the part where I want to point out that this game, at least for me, does NOT feel anything like the previous games Divinity OS and OS2. I tried roleplaying in the Divinity games, but it didn't work as intended, which often killed the immersion for me (which is why I mostly played Divinity OS as ME). Divinity often wanted you to fight most people for XP. I love interacting with all persons in this game. The voice acting, the ... well janky, but still nice cutscene-like conversations got my heart pounding in stressful situations where I NEEDED to pass my ability check. And if that's not the case - so be it, because that's part of THAT specific adventure. Rolling dice is one core of the fun for me, just take the outcome, since otherwise it's just manipulating the adventure. BG3 rewards you for roleplaying at this point and for me it works out. I mostly play my characters as they are intended to be played and get inspiration points for that, those can be used to re-roll a failed skill check. Avoiding combat and good roleplaying is also rewarded with XP, which makes me NOT kill everyone to continue the storyline. Every single time I start an adventure it is a completely different experience. I like the movement and fighting mechanics a lot, it is well balanced and for me it feels like the experience I have been looking for. Why is there a character limit I want to say thank you to Larian Studios. Buy Game.
