Good game, very buggy
It is a fun game but still very buggy which holds it back significantly. If you can live with the bugs i would still recommend it.

Lot's of Choices!
Initially, this game feels like another DOS repeat but it is much more. As the story unfolds, you realize the depth of the characters and the intricacies of the storyline. The developers tried to stay true to DnD system mechanics. From character creation to character development, you are presented with loads of choices. The most significant lie in you actions in-game and in dialogues. There are so many ways the story can play out. You can be as evil or as good as you wish. You can develop your characters with insane abilities at some moral cost or medicore skills staying true to your path. Ultimately, the amount of choice makes the game fascinating. Game mechanics are good. The outcomes of your combat actions are well detailed in the UI and you have flexible options (like pushing someone into the abyss but losing that loot). I feel the developers took some of the best options and balanced the game well. Loot is abundant but really good weapons and armour are not. This makes things more like real DnD where finding a Holy Avenger would be rare. In fact, I am using a weapon I found early in the game as my primary for a 9th level Paladin. This doesn't dilute the game with boring, super powerful weapons that are difficult to choose b/c of minute differences and allows you to focus on character development. The graphics are vibrant and amazing. The cutscenes and cinematics are engaging and well-produced. The overall gameplay is smooth. (RTX3070ti and Ryzen 3900X) I would recommend this game to everyone. It is rare to come across such well-made games with so few bugs these days. My only complaint is that it seemed to take a long time to get released, but it may be understandable given the complxity. I only hope they add DLCs to extend this game's value.

70$ to be an unpaid beta tester?
Hi, I guess people are going to say it is an unfocus game review. However, I still want to make a point that beta tester is a paid job and so, you should not pay to be a beta tester... I will quitely wait 2 or 3 months after the final release before to buy the game... on sale... (the producers are not the only one able to play with offer/demand system)

Refunded
I refunded the game before getting to what are apparently the worst parts, but here are my main complaints: -Combat/Gameplay is dull & tedious First major fight took over 1 hour to complete. I'm not a fan of turn-based combat to begin with, but DOS2 was at least bearable. Larian's adaptation of 5e means you get an even worse version of turn-based combat that's even more boring. And no, barrelmancy, shoving people off cliffs, and shooting chandeliers onto the boss' head doesn't fix this. It just gives you a gimmick that makes you laugh once and then becomes tedious. -Companions The WORST companions I have ever played with in any game (real-life or video game). Completely insufferable jerks. "Oh, just kill them!" you say, but 1.) that only works if you're chaotic evil 2.) one of them has a nuclear bomb in his chest that explodes the entire game world if you do so (not kidding). -Atmosphere It's just not Baldur's Gate. It's a rehash of DOS2 with a paint of coat thrown lazily on top. Luckily I didn't get to the point where they butchered Minsc, Jahiera, and Viconia. They also used some crappy retcon from a WOTC novel that screws up the storyline. -Writing Typical larian unfunny humor and poor writing, but somehow even worse in this game. tldr: I was desperate for a decent cRPG so I bought that. But even to a starving man this is unpalatable.
