Description

Cross-platform multiplayer with Steam is supported.

Gather your party, and return to the Forgotten Realms in a tale of fellowship and betrayal, sacrifice and survival, and the lure of absolute power.

Mysterious abilities are awakening inside you, drawn from a Mind Flayer parasite planted in your brain. Resist, and turn darkness against itself. Or embrace corruption, and become ultimate evil.

From the creators of Divinity: Original Sin 2 comes a next-generation RPG, set in the world of Dungeons and Dragons.

Choose from a wide selection of D&D races and classes, or play as an origin character with a hand-crafted background. Adventure, loot, battle and romance as you journey through the Forgotten Realms and beyond. Play alone, and select your companions carefully, or as a party of up to four in multiplayer.

Abducted, infected, lost. You are turning into a monster, but as the corruption inside you grows, so does your power. That power may help you to survive, but there will be a price to pay, and more than any ability, the bonds of trust that you build within your party could be your greatest strength. Caught in a conflict between devils, deities, and sinister otherworldly forces, you will determine the fate of the Forgotten Realms together.

Forged with the new Divinity 4.0 engine, Baldur’s Gate 3 gives you unprecedented freedom to explore, experiment, and interact with a world that reacts to your choices. A grand, cinematic narrative brings you closer to your characters than ever before, as you venture through our biggest world yet.

The Forgotten Realms are a vast, detailed and diverse world, and there are secrets to be discovered all around you -- verticality is a vital part of exploration. Sneak, dip, shove, climb, and jump as you journey from the depths of the Underdark to the glittering rooftops of the Upper City. How you survive, and the mark you leave on the world, is up to you.

allows you to combine your forces in combat, and split your party to follow your own quests and agendas. Concoct the perfect plan together… or introduce an element of chaos when your friends least expect it.

offer a hand-crafted experience, each with their own unique traits, agenda, and outlook on the world. Their stories intersect with the entire narrative, and your choices will determine whether those stories end in redemption, salvation, domination, or many other outcomes.

based on the D&D 5e ruleset. Team-based initiative, advantage & disadvantage, and roll modifiers join combat cameras, expanded environmental interactions, and a new fluidity in combat that rewards strategy and foresight.

through your choices, and the roll of the dice. No matter who you play, or what you roll, the world and its inhabitants will react to your story.

allows you to pause the world around you at any time even outside of combat. Whether you see an opportunity for a tactical advantage before combat begins, want to pull off a heist with pin-point precision, or need to escape a fiendish trap. Split your party, prepare ambushes, sneak in the darkness -- create your own luck!

Good, but doesnt deserve 5 stars

There are a lot of good things, even revolutionary ones happening here. If you want to read those, have a look at the other reviews. I want to point out the bad stuff (and it may seem like a lot, but have a look back at how many stars i have given this game. That should tell you how good it is. Despite my many ramblings: 1. The writing of the story is frankly lackluster. I have had this kind of complaint back in divinity original sin 2 already. The world seems small if every story thread, every companion quest and every character's origin and/or destination points to a single city: baldur's gate. 2. The way your companions are introduced to you is somewhat weird. Especially the first few (astarion, shadowheart and laezel) are very hard to warm up to. I had the feeling that they were mostly arrogant, full of themselves and generally unlikable... Only to suddenly have the hots for you! Out of nowhere it seems.. I don't mind romance, but it all seems really forced. 3. Gameplay and balance. Some subclasses are just bad and kind of useless. No one picks them. Same for the deities clerics can pick. Aside of 3 (shar, selune and mystra) they dont have any effect on the story or even dialogues. Speak to the dead is also very very lackluster. It is such an interesting spell, but interacting with the dead is like having an unprepared GM in a pen and paper rpg forgetting you had that spell and then "winging" it. 4. Last but not least: the bugs. They are mostly harmless, but every now and then you might encounter a gamebreaking one. In my first playthrough I had a bug in which a critical npc just kept getting killed as soon as he got loaded into the map. It forced me to halt my progress for half a year! until it got fixed. That is unacceptable and makes me lose interest in playing the honour mode. Overall it is a good game. But it could really have been polished better. 4 Stars

I do not want to gather your party!

FFS! For the first F******G time in history I do not want to "gather your party before venturing forth." Because so far your companions are so dislikable you will prefer to run around alone. Graphics are top notch, but I am afraid it can not save the game alone! Because your character is blend. The controls is a story of its own. Enough to say its chockingly bad. There is nothing with this game - for time being - that want me to stay in Baldurs Gate. And that say something coming from someone who have completed BG1 and BG2 countless times.

More "original sin" then DnD

you just don't feel the DnD here, like, at all. And when you feel this game as more original sin like, the part when you can use environment at combat should be more alike...but its not, it feels like...i dont know, toned down. When you use fireball at damn oil barrel and it does nothing. Or the damn "%" chance at hitting your opponents is like at 60% you just got guaranteed miss almost all the even if you have +1 short sword and 15 dex... its like xcom hit chance crap.

Graphics are beautifull, gameplay isnt

To start, the graphics are beautifull :) The gameplay is ok if you dont think about the Baldurs gate Title. If you are like me and this game caught your interest because its Baldurs Gate 3 then you might be disapointed...:( Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 and all dlc etc...are awesome games. And awesome gameplay. And the game play was 1 of the things that these games made so awesome. Just like icewindale etc... But with Baldurs Gate 3 we get gameplay like Divinity 1 and 2. And though those games are kinda nice it sucks to have that gameplay in a huge title as Baldurs Gate 3. The feeling the nostalgic is no where to be found or felt in BG3. Its kinda a nice game though. But dont play it as a BG game or title in mind. But more as a new game in Total with divinity game play. Im still gonna play it. Cause it isnt a bad game. But not going in with A Baldurs gate feeling

Oh, Yes it IS a MFing BG game.

Played way more than several hours, past version 1. Seen the most recent Panel. Seen The Dark Urge. Go ahead--look up The Dark Urge, a 100% customizable by gender/race/class/etc. optional Origin character, whom you can play as gleefully evil or fighting their nature. Now look at that red circle with the teardrops around it underneath the example character's feet in the promo videos, and tell me this isn't a BG game. Look up the companions from the original games that are in. If you actually ARE an OG player, you will start to see that it IS a BG game. RTwP did not make BG. That was the least D&D-faithful part of OG BG. What makes BG is the theme of a dead god ruling your life, of some nasty legacy inside of you that you either embrace or fight, and discovering an imperiled vital city. What makes it is characters you care about teaming up with you; mysteries you want to solve; villains you want to defeat. All of that's here, better than ever. Over time, Larian--amazingly, and in contrast with the majority of developers--LISTENED to player feedback that this was too DOS2! They started with what they knew, then made it increasingly more right and awesome with every new incarnation. The CC--which devoured hours or even DAYS of some people's lives--release version blows the original version OUT OF THE WATER in terms of usability AND options!!! You can easily detail virtually EVERYTHING you want to, but in a game that actually has a meaty story, for the first time in gaming history. There are already unprecedented amounts of character specific dialogue. This will be GOTY if there's any justice in this world. It has come into its own precisely because Larian is infinitely committed to listening to its audience. I crave Celestial Warlock, but a multiclass will sate me for now. In expansion? Who knows. Now, let's get a review from someone who played more than a few hours to the top of the "overall most helpful" list. I don't care if it's mine, just let it be accurate.
