Cool idea which suffers from issues.
The trailers for Atomicrops look amazing and I thought I would really enjoy the game as I'm a huge fan of both roguelites and Harvest Moon type games, it's just too bad there are some big issues with it. The art direction, animations and music are all top notch, there isn't really anything to nitpick about any of those things. The issues come from the lack of polish, accessibility and how the game eases you into its gameplay mechanics. First off you can't rebind certain keys like: Right-Alt, Delete and almost all the numpad keys (except for the" / "key). You're also forced to use the spacebar at certain times to confirm and switch maps, why this button isn't bound to the use button is beyond me and it can't be remapped. This is the biggest issue I personally have with the game, it's specifically less than ideal for people who are handicapped, left handed or might use a non-QWERTY keyboard. Next up we have the tutorials. The game does a poor job with explaining how the mechanics work and how you should start off. There's an extremely short tutorial which touches on the very basics, but everything else you need to learn through trial and error or use a wiki/guide. This can work really well in certain games as long as it's easy to understand from the very beginning using visual and audio clues or gradually easing you into new mechanics as you play, this game drops you in the middle of everything and time is constantly ticking leaving you to fumble and guess on how to proceed. Lastly there's the feeling of lack of polish. There are visual bugs (like binding the Enter button: https://i.imgur.com/ywFB3vq.jpg ), game not muting when in the background, running the game in exclusive fullscreen does not work at all and defaults back to borderless when you start the game up again.
