The game itself has some cool action and design, but that is all overshadowed by the co-op restrictions.

The game actually has built-in IP-connect, but the game checks for a unique login token, and if the game was launched from the executable instead of the Galaxy launcher- all connection options are blocked in the menus. this is a preventative measure that the studio went out of their way to include (again, many games with built in IP-connect can be played over offline LAN); so the game is BY NO MEANS DRM FREE.

if you cannot play the game in its intended form, with all features included- you do not OWN the game. some element of this studio (developer, publisher, or someone else) does not believe you deserve to own the game outright, and that you should be required to sign-in to play.
If you are buying this game for the coop, be aware that it does not work, other reviews say it works with the launcher, and that may be (I don't use it because it runs poorly on linux), but with the offline installer it is forever locked, even tho you get the pop up saying it is unlocked, it never unlocks. Played for an hour trying to see if it unlocked, as the in-game message says to player further or ensure that you got a save game capable of coop (I don't even know what the last part was supposed to mean). Then went to google search and youtube and saw that in fact the coop should have been enabled
There is also no login option in-game, giving 2 stars because the gameplay was not bad, but can't give more because the game description is deceiving letting you think it does have coop.
Atlas Fallen offers a promising combat system, with fluid, fast-paced action that makes for enjoyable battles. However, the game’s potential is largely squandered due to a weak story and underdeveloped world. The plot feels generic and lacks emotional depth, failing to engage players beyond the basics.
While the open world is visually striking, it feels empty and devoid of meaningful exploration or surprises. Much of the game’s potential is left untapped, leading to a repetitive experience.
For Linux users, the game runs smoothly on Proton, which is a rare plus.
However, the biggest issue is the inexplicable disabling of co-op mode when using the offline installer, making the game feel incomplete. This frustrating flaw, possibly DRM-related, significantly hampers the experience, especially for those looking forward to multiplayer gameplay.
EULA states in the Personal Data section, the right to collection of your data (actual name, IP, username, etc) before you can access the 'Mutlimedia Product'. you HAVE TO ACCEPT this EULA before the game will continue. there is no option to turn this off in game, but you have to contact Focus to stop data collection, but by then it's all a bit late isn't it.
I found it a spiritual sequel to Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (played the living crap out of that one). I had no idea this existed and sure feels like what Forspoken meant to be
- Good enough exploration
- Difficulty for newbies and experts
- I'm kinda hooked (only about 3h in)
A shame it it looks like Horizon Zero Dawn and Destiny had their incestuous design baby (both spawining from the Warframe Turbo-Skeletor school of arts and design)
