Description
Assassin’s Creed® is a game that redefined the action-adventure genre. With photo-realistic graphics, an advanced physics model, and a nearly fanatical attention to detail, this title was able to begin a new chapter in gaming history. However, the excellent technical aspects are only half of the reason why it became so popular; the other half is the story.

While you technically play the game as Desmond Miles, the main focus of the game takes place elsewhere. The year is 1191: Jerusalem, the middle of the Third Crusade. You are a member of a mysterious order of assassins where you have trained your whole life to do one thing and one thing only – to kill. The recently growing influence of the Order of the Knights Templar disturbs the delicate balance of power in the region and therefore directly threatens The Brotherhood. The clash of the two most powerful organizations in Jerusalem at the time has the most unexpected consequences and triggers devastating events that threaten the world itself, and you – Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad – are in the middle of all this.
  • Well-constructed story that will pleasantly surprise you many times along the way.
  • Impressive level of interaction with the environment – crowds react to what you do and act accordingly.
  • Open world gameplay lets you to decide how and when to achieve objectives, where to go, and gives you nearly complete freedom to get there.

Boring

This game initially looks like a mix between DeusEx and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Problem is it's linear, with messy interface, with nearly no choice of what to do and no character development and the fighting plainly sucks. You just click attack and that's it. No control of the actual way to place a strike. Even Oblivion is more flexible than this! The graphics are pretty good that's the star I gave it for. The story is kind of interesting, but not worth a second star. mixing future with middle ages is s stupid idea. The physics "engine" is actually inferior to Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, which is an much older game of the same company! In short I'm disappointed with this game. Maybe others will think differently, but for me this game misses the "game" part.

Well, that is just awful...

I never even got through the initial tutorials... every time I quit and restart, I have to go through the 10-minute listen-to-babble cutsceen, then grind through a miserable tutorial game which describes actions using terms (for controls) that don't even match the PC that I'm using... and getting hung repeatedly on certain steps (especially grab-and-throw) that get hung and I cannot escape... and apparently that tutorial cannot be skipped. I managed to cope with about 10 restarts before I simply lost interest and deleted the stupid program. How pathetic... I've definitely been spoiled by AC Valhalla and AC Origins...

Nothing more than a graphics demo

The games about an assassin who failed to follow the orders of his brotherhood and fell in grace ... now he needs to replenish his status among the assassins and executes Templars and other people. Or does he ... Apart from the rather unique storyline the game suffers from various problems in the game mechanics. First and foremost each and every kill is preceded by a number of minigames to get clues of how and when to kill a specific indiviual just to ignore them all in the end. In all cases you just rush to the victim and kill it or you follow it. You don't actually plan your target like in Hitman ... it's all scripted. On top of that all those minigames tend to repeat themselves very often. The interaction with the crowd is almost non-existent, as you can only meld with the crowd at specific points on the map. The main thing you're doing is climbing towers to open up new tiles of the map, to play those minigames and fight with soldiers at an almost 100% win-chance (as soon as you learn how to counter). The graphics, sound and presentation overall is absolutely fabulous but the gameplay around it is awful. Heed my words: Read the Wikipedia Article about Assassins Creed and wait for gog to release Assassins Creed 2 ... it's much better in every aspect.

misleading game description and issues

first of all -- this game does not support my XBOX One Wireless controller (connected via bluetooth on Windows 10). second, when i first opened the game the intro cinematic didn't even show. the SECOND time i opened the game however, the intro cinematic showed. also, when i alt-tab the taskbar gets stuck in-front of the game after i try to tab back in. pretty unstable and misleading game if you ask me.
