Shadow ninja stealth game
There will be spoilers. Be warned. (Spoilers here) Story: You play origami (aragami) a spirit of the night summoned by an empress, god, thing to help free her from the hoard of light warriors keeping her captive. To do so you must retrieve a ton of trinkets scattered throughout the world then bring them to where the empress is being kept. Each trinket you receive brings back a part of your memory. By the end you realize the empress is actually evil and in your previous life you were the first light general and responsible for sealing her away. Having killed all the other generals and knowing the empress is evil ( or so we've been told ) it's now up to you to kill her for good. The story is pretty goofy and predictable. It's not bad but around halfway through the game it became pretty clear this mysterious empress character was taking you for a ride so the end of the game isn't too shocking or impactful. Gameplay: It's a stealth puzzle game with grading mechanics. You more or less have to get through a level by using shadow powers to kill or avoid enemies. If you're caught or a body is found the rest of the enemies are alerted and if you get hit a single time, you die. At the end of the level you're given a grade and some emblems based on how well you did. I made sure to not get caught and also murdered everything which gives an S rank but you can also get an emblem and presumably the S rank for getting through the level without killing anyone. In all, I thought the game was fun to play. Bugs/Performance: Only the last two videos worked for me. I played the Linux version and had problems with the screen going white and the video presumably playing in the background. I had to skip the videos in-game and watch them on Youtube which was rather annoying. This is a huge bug and really shouldn't have made it through. Other than that I didn't have any problems. It ran well minus some occasional freezing. In all I recommend this. It's a bit short but I had fun with it.
