Alpha Protocol

as title states, the missions do become a bit repetitive in my opinion but i chalk it up to user error.. the stealth in this game seems borederline impossible more often than not; forced combat sections, enemies clustered who never stray from each other, enemies posted at choke points with no method to get behind them.. my ideal playthrough would be stealth gameplay, Solid Snake style, but inevitably i mess it up or the game messes it up for me during almost every mission. thus it becomes repetitive because im just mowing through people with an assault rifle which ive upgraded maybe once and have 2 level-ups for. the parts i do like? when stealth is possible, the interactions with other characters in the story, your choices seemingly making real change, and my god does mike have jokes- i choose the 'funny' option a lot because i like jokes and this guy is so much funnier than i thought he would be, i expected the marvel style "erm that just happened" comedy at every turn but no its much better. soooo basically i have been having fun more consistently than with some other games, but mostly because of dialogue and the increasingly rare successful stealth operation.

A very rare blend of genres : Spy and RPG. Clunky sometimes but very engaging and with dynamic choices and consequences.

I waited a long while to play Alpha Protocol. About 15 years to be exact. All the systems are in place but none of it comes together with how the devs intented. It becomes a run-and-gun very quickly when you see how poor the AI is. Stealth is absolutely broken, which is the biggest shame because it very much expects the player to use it. Enemies see and hear you from odd distances or through objects you wouldn't expect. With all that said, I was inclined to finish the game. It's still fun to play, even when you can easily exploit it. That actually becomes part of the fun. It's so jank that I admire what the devs did here.

Can't believe i get to play this game again. 15 long years since the first time and it's still just as fun as the first time.

Used to play this on one of the original Xbox or Xbox 360s. Looks better on my PC than it did on my 50 inch 720p screen with the xbox, because now it's at least 1080p60. Fun game.
