Alan Wake

The unlocked camera that sways left and right is nauseating and annoying. You can switch shoulder sides for camera but it does not lock to a side, it dynamically sways to the left and right side (player character is on the right and left respectively). Horizon ZD has this same swaying camera and it's horrid. You would think after all this time the devs would have fixed it or implemented an option setting to lock/unlock the camera, nope. Garbage, absolute garbage. Unless you enjoy your viewport constantly swaying left and right, this game is a hard pass. No, cheatengine does not have a table to fix this and no other modders have a fix. Just like HZD. If you don't mind the camera doing this, it's still a good game, but 4 stars off for horrid camera mechanic.

Always thougth this game would be really cool, especially on the PC. However, I was wrong! The story line is cheesey, but I suppose that is to be expected. I am certaintly glad I didn't pay more than $5.00 for this one. I really don't recommend this, unless you like games where there is very limited camera movement and character control. At best the game is mediocre but I'd rather play the Lemmings or one of the games that gog.com gave me for free when I signed up on the website. In the end, I give this game a big fat ZERO rating! -EQ

A true pity, i was expecting a thriller with a good storyline, i got a point n' click adventure with very long moments where the narration seems to be directly from the 4 year old boss' son diary. the game insist a lot on making you feel insecure, and wants you to know at every corner that alan wake is a great author, BUT the reality is that when an ennemy sneak up on you from behind, the camera stops and shows him doing his job, and every manuscrit page we can find are only there to show how bad of an author alan wake is. anyway, only finished it because i paid for it, and i'm glad i did, because i could see the moment where the devs gave up on trying to scare you : the metal concert in the farm. Aside from the credibility lost, it was the best part because FOR ONCE they faced their failure, and didn't try any other bullshit, they just gave a good level, that's it

I really wanted to like this game but I can't the camera angle is the killer of the entire game UNPLAYABLE

Get the Remastered version from Epic instead. The remastered version has - 60 FPS - Improved lighting and textures - NO COMMERCIAL! (Seriously, that Verizon logo is so old and dumb) The game is amazing, one of my favorites and it must be played to fully understand the absolute masterpiece which is Alan Wake II, the long awaited sequel which delivered on all fronts.
