A good game for sure. I was entertained to the very end but as a horror game? Not that good.
The flashlight idea was very intriguing, so much so that I could overlook the energiser product placement and the eerie t.v's you'd see all throughout the game really added to the suspense.
The soundtrack as well was a blast to listen to but the enemies aren't very varied and can get annoying pretty fast. Plus later in the game you'll feel very strong especially with the allies you'll gain which doesn't feel right to me considering it's a horror game but regardless it was very fun. Just wish they didn't plaster you with bad jokes
The whole game is like an interactive book, it has far the best story and the atmosphere is also brilliant and the musics too.
This game is not shinning in control, because it is a bit clumsy. If somebody want only an action game it is not the best choice, but it is, if you want a really amazing story and atmosphere.
The game has six acts. While I played the first one I thought it would be better to stop it, because it was a bit boring, but after every acts increased in quality and finally I can not say other thing than despite of it's weaknesses it is one of best game I ever played.
The story is rather contrived and takes itself way too seriously - this is at an age where games were starting to think that they could be movies - dividing themselves by chapters, contrived emotion and 'plot twists' that have no impact because you haven't processed what the previous 'twist' meant and trying to get you into the whole 'is it real?' - the cutscene graphics are abismally bad and make the main character look like he has a thyrod problem, altough the in-game graphics on max can be nice. The gameplay loop is plain horrible, its just the same thing over and over again, to the point that I actually look fowards to the cutscenes
The voice acting is good, and all of the actors did a good job, the story does have some bits where you start to get interested and invested (altough it soon breaks it with another 'twist' which just pulls you right off) and I have encountered no bugs.
This is way overhyped and I just can't reccomend it.
One of my favorite games from the Xbox 360. Alan wake is a horror game about fighting darkness with light. The graphics was very good at the time and the gameplay is very thrilling. The story is engrossing with great voice acting and music. One major issue for me is that Alan Wake stamina is so low that he can only run for a few seconds before he is tired. With how cheap this game is it is an easy recommendation.
as others have said, the gameplay will leave your frusterated. You will often times feel like you are out gunned and out matched to enemies that randomly appear behind you and hit you before you can react. Or you will find yourself without any ammo to fight back with.
If you make it to the end of this game without rage quiting or uninstalling this game, that's the real achievement!
Also, the camera always seems... of centered. It's weird, I can't put my finger on it but that's what it feels like. Like your character runs straight but you will be viewing from an off angle.
