Description
Take control of the aircraft carrier, its crew, officers and planes during WW2. Give an example of military prowess by choosing the right equipment, crew, and escort for the mission. Remember that your success will depend greatly on your flexibility in managing the available fleet resources.
Assign a crew and choose what your officers should focus on. Your ship has many stations to man, and proper management will be the key to executing your plan, whether by taking on an enemy directly, sneaking past them, or taking an alternative route to completely avoid contact.
Your damage control teams can handle fire outbreaks, torpedo strikes, hull flooding, enemy bombardment, airstrikes, and suicide attacks from enemy planes, but not all of them at once. Assess which threats need to be dealt with first in order to survive.
Use maneuvers, aircraft, anti-aircraft turrets, and whatever else you can to survive the enemy attack. Make sure that any enemy who dares to attack you will end up in the depths of the Pacific.
Will you risk all lives on the vessel to save the one in need? Do you have what it takes to make a decision on the spot? No matter what, some sacrifices will be necessary and the only source of redemption is victory.
Use intel collected during recon missions to prepare pilots and aircraft for large operations. Target enemy land bases and even their entire fleets. Identify opponents before choosing attack directions and deciding the sequence of targets and maneuvers.

I want to like this game. You manage a carrier strike group as the admiral. You can change the group ship composition. Upgrade the crew/aircraft/ships. The battles are more managed rather than fought. RNG plays a role. Your goal is to keep planes in the air and the strike group alive.
I haven't had any bugs yet.
My biggest issue is the game is seemingly abandoned on GOG. The Steam version had an update in May 2023 from the new dev with new missions. GOG is still on the Feb 2023 version. Be nice if there was an update from the dev here on GOG.
Got as far as mission 2 before I had to start the mission over twice because the game starts (a) being unable to save the game, even after restarting it (it just doesn't do it -- it ignores your clicking ok to save), or (b) saving the game but loading it back in a bugged state (like if you save while planes are being moved on the deck, when it reloads, the planes are stuck and cannot be moved, and nothing can be done on the flight deck anymore, meaning end of game for that save).
Very, very bad form to have game-ruining save bugs at this stage.
Damage control people just stand around unless individually ordered to do things. I got the impression it wasn't supposed to be that way, but some fire's raging and the fire control guy is apparently taking a break while whatever room burns down. Based on forum posts, it's probably one of the many bugs.
I'm beyond tired of constantly rearranging the deck.
I want to do an airstrike, but the wrong planes are on the deck. I don't see how to put planes back into the hangar so I can get the right things out. There's probably some way to do it, which will require more shuffling and clicking and weird little menus. I really wish my highly skilled admiral could work that out on his own.
My officer(s) are seemingly always standing in the wrong command room for whatever's going on. Gotta move them, 'cause they sure don't know where to go on their own.
Oh, scouts have found me. Launch a Combat Air Patrol! What do you mean that doesn't work? There's scouts above my carrier. I now have fighters flying above my carrier. Shoot the scouts. Oh, right, wrong button. There's a special tiny button for that. Guess I gotta move this officer again. Oh, he won't move. I moved him too recently and it's, like, twenty whole feet away. So, he's lazy on top of stupid. Great.
At some point supplies are mentioned in the tutorial. It sounded important. I have yet to see where supplies are listed on screen. It'll probably be some other micro management thing for later.
Random other stuff:
The UI is super tiny on my screen (Windowed 1080p). I can make it out with squinting. However, the mission briefings are illegible.
Had a soft lock during the tutorial. That's a big deal. I couldn't move an officer to another room. Couldn't change views, nothing. Had to restart. That's not a good look for a game.
I'm not a navy man, but are dive bombers really the only planes that can do recon? Really? Maybe that's a nitpick, but...
At first glance it seemed it would be similar to Fallout Shelter which I liked, but based on the tutorial it is not as lightsome implementation as I expected.
By the way, I feel like this graphic/UI implementation could have been done with less system load. We're only in the menu, but the desktop PC is already spinning like crazy. Not to mention that a 10th generation intel laptop suffers from loading it. Based on my experience, the unity engine is also not that well optimized in terms of resources, unfortunately, see other strategy games like Oxygen not included... etc. But if you have the hardware, of course, who cares about the footprint...
