I loved:
- the flying. It feels perfect! I'll boot the game well after finishing it just to fly around.
- the visuals. A perfect low-poly landscape. Not some forced "retro" vibe, purely artistic vision.
- the freedom. I went flying around to fins all the stuff before starting the plot. Partly because I could partly because flying is so fun.
- playing with my young son. He loved the flying and the jumping. He'd ask me to boot it up so he could fly.
Great game, forgotten key!
If you buy this game, be aware that this game's keys can not be changed. It's WASD or die. So left-handed players or players with certain disabilities can't play this game without having to stress with external keymapping tool and I really don't want this. Remapping keys should be the most basic option in any game, so I really don't understand why the devs didn't give you that option. It's just inexcusable.
Uninstalled... moving on to games I can actually play.
Minimalist story, can be resolved in just about any order, light puzzles that aren't too difficult, plenty of little things to find, see, and read. Good little game, finished in about 3.5 hours due to just checking stuff out. Worth it. Love this art style. ONLY reason that it's a 4 instead of a 5 is that I want just a little bit more to do!
I sat and played this game in one sitting, completing it after 3 hours, however i went afk for dinner, adding an hour of time.
i was curious going into the game as its artwork had intrigued me. my initial impressions were mixed, i liked the initial atmosphere that the game had started building but felt ultimately that the game fell flat.
it is clear the developers had some good ideas for the world they wanted to make, but lacked the ability to finish what they had started.
PUZZLES:
the games puzzles were very basic and similar to that of Skyrim and Zelda, however where you could possibly get lost and have to really think in some of the harder zelda games, this game felt almost linear in its design, with a couple branching paths in the dungeons that ultimately led to the same location
MECHANICS:
The game featured a pretty fun flying mechanic for the 'open world' it was easy to pick up and get used to, with a clear sense that flying in later segments would prove challenging and rewarding, however the sense of worth that i had thought at the start of my playthrough never materialized as the mechanics served as nothing more than a way to get from point A to B. there was only one time where the player is required to fly through a couple rings, however they were so easy it seemed impossible to fail.
There is no state of failure in the game, falling off the map via transforming into a human and falling into the void merely resets you to the nearest checkpoint/safe area, this itself would have been fine, however it took little to no time to get back to where you were and imo there was no lesson to learn.
there is no combat in the game as there are no enemies. there is an enemy esque figure shown throughout the game but there is no confrontation that affects gameplay.
CONCLUSION:
A lacking game in every sense, with some music tracks i liked and some i didnt. the game finally started getting my interest but quickly ended, sending me back to the menu. VERY disappointing
