New Genre of Fighting game
This game isn't for everyone and being a fresh new studio's first game it has some rough corners with the netplay. But the gameplay you will find in Absolver is so original and creative. Each player can have their own style to represent how they want to fight. Learning all the moves can be a chore but its bitter work to help you appreciate and figure out the mechanics of the game. I feel like this is mostly a tech demo for a new genre of fighting game and since Sifu I hope to see Slo Clap dive back into multi-player

A unique game worth trying for £6
I got this game for £6 and I think that is a fair price for what I got. However, if I paid £20 for this I would be getting a refund as the game has some glaring quality issues. This game offers a unique experience. A fighting/duelling game where you can customize every move at your disposal. Create combos, choose from different fighting styles etc. The level of customization here is great. You aquire new moves by blocking the attack enough times to fill a meter. I get the logic behid it, though it is a bit annoying that you have to play so defensively at first if you want to learn new moves. The first thing that annoyed me is the framerate issues. I don't understand why a game like this, with minimalist graphics, is so prone to stuttering and lagging. But it is very annoying at times, since some things like parries require precise timing. But it happens infrequently enough that you can enjoy the game. Another, bigger annoyance, is the lack of a decent map. You get to check something map-like when you are sitting at a checkpoint. But it gives you hardly any info at all. There is no compass or direction marker so you don't know which way you are facing. Half of the time I spent in this game was running around aimlessly, trying to find the right way to go next. I don't understand this design choice at all. It's just aggravating. Give me some direction so I am not wasting my time. The soundtrack is, well... It's pretty bad. I had to mute it after a while. I'm no musician but to me it sounded like someone just messing around with instruments for the first time. I would prefer some ambient sounds. Not every game needs a soundtrack. The sounds effects of the attacks and combat is excellent. Generally anything to do with combat is good. That said, choosing the 'parry' playstyle seems massively inferior, as you have to practically guess the dirction of an attack correctly for it to work. All in all, the game is worth trying if you can get it for a low price.
