Story:The Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes is an adventure game series developed by Mythos Software and published by the American computer game company Electronic Arts for DOS in the 1990s. The series contains The Case of the Serrated Scalpel (1992), and The Case of the Rose Tattoo (1996).
The graphics, the illusion of freeroaming gloomy Victorian London, the suspense, the perfectly captured essence of Conan Doyle's stories and finally being Sherlock bloody Holmes. This game had it all and I miss it dearly
Warm and cozy. This is what this game reminds me of.
I had such an amazing time playing this back in the days. I was mesmerized with the sound, the story, the colours, the atmosphere and, of course, the personalities of Sherlock and Watson.
I remember printing the "journal" with all the dialogs of the game. Wonderful point n' click masterpiece!
A point and click a little ahead of its time - with little minigames such as Darts added for immersion. Really let you inhabit the character of Sherlock Holmes. I probably still have it on CD-ROM and was a nightmare to run back in the day, but worth the time and perseverance.
When i started my personal Sherlock Holmes marathon (playing though all the games), i have fight which one to choose, Dos version or 3DO. While 3DO look nicer, i didn't like having no subtitles, so i eventually went with Dos version, and won't regret choosing that.
Still one of the better Sherlock Holmes game i have play, along side with Rose tattoo.
Iremember this being one of the best Sherlock Games that I have played and I would love to experience it again thanks to GOG, one really good detective game too.
This was my first computer game my parents bought me! I so miss this game. I loved this game so much as a kid! I remember not getting off the family computer because i wanted to beat this game so bad. Unfortunately, someone stole my game :( please bring this game back!!!
This is one of the greatest adaptations of the Sherlock Holmes stories. And that vintage point and click aesthetic - god, it brings back memories. When I first saw this game, it blew my freakinf mind. And the story is incredible. So many twists and turns.

As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed.
The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo.
As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity.
Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control.
