The reason for my support is actually quite simple: I hope that one day it will be recognized in Germany how unnecessarily complicated some of the regulations surrounding the USK (Entertainment Software Self-Regulation Body) are.
Currently, this leads to many games not even being displayed on platforms like Steam in Germany. For adult users, this means they are not only prevented from purchasing the games – they are effectively rendered invisible, as if they didn't exist at all.
A much more sensible solution would be possible: Such titles could simply be left visible, but purchases for German accounts could be blocked, or reliable age verification could be required. This would ensure the protection of minors without completely denying adult players access to information.
It's a real shame, in my opinion, that Steam hasn't yet implemented such a system. Platforms like GOG, on the other hand, demonstrate that there are other ways. Therefore, I support making such games available there.
