Perhaps there are more games like it, but from my experience it's incredibly unique. A 3D beat-'em up with an emphasis of moving athletically with tank-like controls. It's a strange concept and it takes a minute to get a handle on, but once you start to get it, it becomes really fun!
Lots of challenge modes and a shocking amount of replay-value down to even after you master Spider-Man, beating the game on a high enough difficulty makes it so you can play as Green Goblin who has a very different set of abilities than the web-head. It isn't anything like Spider-Man 2, but in some ways, I do miss this style of gameplay that was so unique and fun. Perhaps the newer iterations of the character is more true to how the character fights and moves on-screen but a part of me desires to go back and see this style of gameplay.
Now I do own the disk, but it's such a pain to install on modern systems and modern controllers tend to not work properly with the game. For me and my controller I had to go through the whole thing with the X-Axis and Y-Axis flipped! The game being on GOG would at least make the installation process a lot easier, and maybe there could be some minor modifications to get the game to recognize the different modern hardware.
It'd also be nice to more easily recommend this game to my friend and have them give it a shot! Telling them "Hey, install this really old game with awkward controls that's really hard to get running" isn't exactly a perfect pitch. But an old $5 game on GOG makes it a lot less effort on their part.
If you *really* want to go all out, adding achievements for all the small bonuses that many people may have missed could be really cool! But I'd be happy enough with this charming game in a more modern library of mine!
(Also I must share that I was too young to beat the game as a child and that my mother beat Green Goblin! Such a nostalgic memory).
