I’d love to see Sons of the Forest available on GOG, and I think it would be a perfect match for the platform’s values and audience.
The game excels in every major category—replayability, immersive world design, creative freedom, and social gameplay. It also includes LAN support, which is becoming increasingly rare in modern titles. That feature alone makes it ideal for preservation-focused platforms like GOG, where offline play and long-term access are prioritized.
GOG users appreciate ownership, stability, and the ability to play without DRM or reliance on external servers. Unfortunately, Steam’s periodic outages and occasional issues with game removals or account access make that difficult. Having Sons of the Forest on GOG would give players a reliable, DRM-free way to enjoy the game with friends—even years down the line.
I’ve seen others resort to piracy just to gain offline access or LAN stability. That’s something I want to avoid. I’d happily purchase the game again here on GOG to support the developers and preserve access the right way.
This game checks all the boxes for what makes a GOG release truly worthwhile: quality, longevity, and respect for the player’s freedom. Let’s make it happen!
