Story:Risk: The Game of Global Domination is the computerized version of the popular world-conquest board game Risk. This version brings the game to life though animation and graphics, and offers a variation on the classic rules. Also comes in two modes: Classic Risk and Ultimate Risk!
This was by far the best version of Risk ever made. I'd pay modern day AAA game prices to have it back. The fact that even if you can find a version of it the game would still be unplayable on modern systems is an actual travesty.
When my family first got a computer in the mid-late 90's, it came with two games: Tyrian (already in GoG) and Risk: The Game of Global Domination. I have memories playing with my dad and seeing how amazed he was to see this game on the computer screen. I became obsessed with the Ultimate Risk mode. I would choose a color to play with a specific country's flag and then think of it as an alternate history game and I was only 11. Since then the CD has been lost after several moves and I haven't been able to find a way to play it in almost 20 years. I would be very appreciative if it were added to GoG's catalog.
Ultimate Risk is just the best version of Risk ever. Forts, capitals, genrals, tactics cards. If it can't be made playable on modern systems then someone should do a remake with modern graphics and maybe even a physical board game version. I would absolutly pay for something like that.
This game had Ultimate mode which nearly 30 years later has no equal or even clones. Please bring this masterpiece to us. Several maps, genreals, forts, capitals, storms, rebels, decent AI its the complete package.
The ultimate mode. It was a new fun way to play Risk, I especially remember the forts and trying to take them down. Also chosing strategical positions in battle, like flanking and such. This must come back on GoG!
