Story:Jurassic Park is a SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive game based on the first movie.
The game was playable as either Dr. Alan Grant or a Velociraptor (presumably the The Big One). Grant is the default character but can be changed using the 'Player' option on the game's main menu to swich to the raptor.
1993. I was 12 years old. I begged, BEGGED, for my first game system (Sega Genesis) for no other reason than to be able to play this game. I can still hear the sound of the t-rex roaring "SEGA" in the opening animatic. Pure nostalgia.
The T-Rex roaring 'SEGA' is one of the best things. I agree with Burnsauce. My brother and I would lose it every time. I only ever played as the raptor. Don't think we ever beat this one, sadly.
More recently in Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection. The first Genesis Jurassic Park game stood out in a few ways. Parts of the art design just gets your attention. The music sticks with you for a long time. Some rememberable sound effects I didn't say all of them were good. There's a password system just in case you wanted to take a break. Of course the big thing it had over the SNES counterpart game was a secondary playable character. You actually have the option to play as a raptor!!! This blew my mind years ago I loved they done that. Not only that The two campaigns plays vastly differently to justify playing through it twice.
